Some of the best things in life are also the most simple, and this is especially true for the king of all breakfasts - the breakfast taco. Let's be honest, everyone loves breakfast tacos, am I right? Especially living in San Antonio.

San Antonian's can't get enough breakfast tacos. Luckily, San Antonio is home to many great taco places -- and a handful of genuinely stand-out taco joints if you're looking to explore beyond your zip code bubble.

Here is your guide to "The 210's" very best breakfast tacos.

1. Taco Taco

"BEST TACOS IN AMERICA!!!" Bon Appetit on Food Network

This was a go-to place back in my college days, and it remains so today. Everything is made in house, by hand, every day to include the tortillas that taste like gramma is in the back making them fresh.

They treat you like family from the minute you step inside the place. One of my personal fav spots for tacos and to this day almost always has a line to get in.

The quality of the food for the price is unbeatable anywhere in San Antonio. It's the best spot in town to come and eat, period.

2. Chela's Tacos

Named in Texas Monthy as one of the 120 tacos to eat before you die, Chela's is a place you need to visit. Chela's Big Red Taco Trailer is a mainstay near UT San Antonio at The Block Food Park.

My favorites will always be their namesake tacos, specifically the chicken cilantro and the La Costra varieties, to name a few.

Another great perk is that the place is pet-friendly and has plenty of seating for those Texas afternoons. Their fresh ingredient approach also allows the food to be less greasy than other spots, which is a massive bonus for health-conscious folks. But hey, if you're going to grab a taco then you may as well go all in.

3. Pete's Tako House

Walking distance from the famous Historic Pearl, Pete's is a legit

OG of the local taco scene and has been around since 1978.

The name of the place is intentionally misspelled and is a tribute to the restaurant's origin when it began as the Tink-A-Tako location. Pete's has a full-service menu to include lunch, and the breakfast tacos are available all day. The tacos here are not only tasty but very filling, and they definitely prove that everything is bigger in Texas.

My wife and I frequent Pete's on many weekend mornings so I can personally vouch for their awesomeness.

4. Henry's Puffy Tacos

Yes, puffy tacos are a thing, and Henry's Puffy Tacos is absolutely legendary for them.

Henry's sells over 1,000 Puffy Tacos a day and has sold over 15,000,000 Puffy Tacos to date, offering eight different fillings and numerous toppings. Yes. I said eight.

The spicy beef fajita gained national recognition by a compilation of food critic reports as one of the top "best tacos" in the United States.

Over time, Henry's has expanded its menu into quite an impressive list of items. Still, there's no doubt you're here for the puffy tacos—some of the best tacos in San Antonio...hands down.

5. The Original Donut Shop

Don't let the name fool you. These guys have been serving arguably San Antonio's favorite breakfast tacos since the 1950s and are consistently on almost every "Best Of" list.

Tacos on the left and donuts on the right, the Original Donut Shop is a bit of a novelty because there aren't too many restaurants that serve both tacos and donuts under the same roof. Still, we're here to tell you that they do them both, and they do them very well.

Be sure to #nomnom the chilaquiles and crispy chicken tacos while you're here, and hey, you might as well grab a few jelly donuts while you're at it.

Tacos and donuts. Can life get any better?

6. Bill Millers

Perhaps an unexpected breakfast taco contender and known for it's BBQ, this is a San Antonio staple for overall great food.

While I must admit there are places with better Texas BBQ, Bill Miller's has a loyal foodie following that come for, of all things, breakfast tacos. Taste the combo of bacon, egg and potatoe and their signature hot sauce.

Serving the Alamo City since 1953, Bill Miller's BBQ has been doing some of the best and least expected breakfast tacos in the city.

The best brisket breakfast taco in town, hands down. Add some homemade pico de gallo, and you are set for the morning!

The Final Bite

Skip the scones, pass on the pan dulce and grab yourself some legit San Antonio breakfast tacos.

When you wake up hungry on any day of the week and crave a taco, remember these taco joints as our top picks for the Alamo City.
