Are YOU a huge sports fan? Maybe just a football fan? Or just a Superbowl fan? ..Or a fan of any excuse to indulge in mouth savoury snacks on a weekend? Drink some beer? Or a great gambler? Bets ! Yes I know many people use this opportunity to test their luck and win BIG . I admit, I am more of a "snack" fan than a huge sports fan. I do enjoy watching Basketball and Track and Field. But the topic on hand is the super bowl , particularly Football.

When it comes to Football to be 100% honest, I don't fully understand the rules. However , I do enjoy seeing the players in their tight fitting uniforms ! Especially the ones who athletic structure is firm . Oou and the muscles defined . I am paying . That is probably my favourite part ! Just kidding ... or maybe not ! HA. When it comes to football please correct me if I'm wrong, but to my recollection someone throws a ball in a spiral , someone catches the ball mid air , then everyone chases (and tackles ) that individual then everyone stands around for a while talking about and (watching replays of) what just happened... then there's a half time show!! Woot!! Woot!! Woot!! I cannot forget the beautiful performers either !

Whether you are lover of all things "sport" or all things "snack", you are going to LOVE this list of amazing snack and appetizer ideas that will have you more interested in the deliciousness on your very own coffee table than the "big game" on the Television *Ahem*.. GO Football ! GO sports! GO Football ! GO sports!

As you scroll through , I do hope you say "tah dah!" over and over and again!

Let me present the very first option ;

Buffalo Cauliflower Bites

This, my friends, is what you call a vegan Super Bowl snack ! It was important to me when making a vegan appetizer list that it is not just darn tasty, but it has to have a real ooh and aah factor. Super tasty and flavourful.

There is just something about eating with your hands, sauciness dripping, flavour bar food that I just NEED every now and then. Buffalo cauliflower bites , a twist to traditional buffalo chicken wings ! So whether you have a variety of guests , meat eaters or plant based . You can count on not feeling left out of the deliciousness at my house.

In terms of preparation, the cornflakes for the coating of the cauliflower require seasonings . The coated cauliflower florets are baked making these an easy healthy alternative to chicken wings. Great appetizer for the Super Bowl or any bar night. I’d say Crispy Buffalo Cauliflower for the WIN!!! TOUCHDOWN!

Prep Time

15- 20 mins

Cook Time

25 mins

Total Time

45 mins

Ingredients

Bowl #1:

- ½ cup all-purpose flour (or all-purpose gluten-free flour blend)

Bowl #2:

- 2 tablespoons ground chia or ground flax

- ž cup warm water

Bowl #3:

-4 cups corn flakes

- ½ teaspoon garlic powder

- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

- ½ teaspoon salt

- Âź teaspoon pepper

For the rest:

* 1 small head of cauliflower, cut into florets

* ½ cup franks red hot (or other similar hot sauce of your choice )

* 3 tablespoons vegan butter.

If you're someone who is iffy about veggies you MUST try them roasted. The natural sugars caramelize in the vegetables making them sweeter, the flavours deepen, they become crispy on they outside and tender on the inside. Even picky eaters love veg when they are roasted.

2. NACHOS

Hello ! LOADED. VEGAN. NACHOS. Yes, yes, and absolutely yes. I LOVE loaded nachos. The funny thing about my love for nachos is that when I transitioned to plant based eating . I didn't even really realize how much I loved them but not the cheese . I remember at restaurants scraping the cheese off and never finishing it .

Personally going plant based has upped my food creativity, and my grocery bill is now lower than it EVER was with meat.

They're quick and easy to make, but you'll have to have very good discipline to not eat it all immediately. You have been warned!

You can’t have nachos without some GOOD dip options ! So here is whats on the menu ;

2. CHERRY TOMATO SALSA

A Fresh and flavourful cherry tomato salsa made with garlic , lime , red onion and coriander . This classic salsa is a great party dip!

Ingredients

-360 g cherry tomatoes ( or 6 large tomatoes ) finely diced.

- 1/2 red onion , finely diced

Such a fresh- tasting quick dish, made with very minimal ingredients.

I get it, eating vegan or even just trying to eat a more plant-focused diet can seem difficult, time-consuming, and maybe even weird . However , using various experiments, and trial and error in terms of taste . Allows me to fulfill most cravings !

The FUN part , drinks ! Who doesn’t like a cold drink ? Well as oppose to obvious case of beers for the super bowl Sometning New , something tasty. My friend Lauren actually made me this summer and I instantly fell in love ! Thanks girl !
