Do you want a quick simple cracker spread or chip/veggie dip? Don’t have a lot of time or ingredients? Then do I have the dip for you. My parmesan cheese dip has only 4 ingredients and takes less than 5 minutes to make. I have included some options for some diets.

What you will need:

-1 Packages of Cream Cheese

Opt for vegan cream cheese to make it vegan

Opt for natural/organic brand to help keep it healthy and negate preservatives

Opt for a kosher cream cheese to help those with religious restrictions

Opt for your local store brand to help on cost

Opt for a dairy free alternative cream cheese to make this dairy free

(Most Cream Cheese doesn’t contain and has not been processed on equipment shared by soy, nut, egg, shellfish, or wheat. It also shouldn’t have too much sugar or salt, but please read ingredient lists)

-Chives/Green Onions

Can change it to Rosemary or onion if you are not fond of chives

Opt for natural/organic brand to help keep it healthy and negate preservatives

-Garlic Salt

If on low sodium diet try garlic powder or minced garlic

-Parmesan (Grated)

Opt for wedge if you don’t mind self grating

Opt for low/no dairy alternative cheese (If you don’t mind grating and need a lower lactose content)

Opt for vegan cream cheese similar to grated parmesan to make it vegan

Opt for a kosher Parmesan to help those with religious restrictions

Opt for your local store brand to help on cost

(Most Parmesan Cheese doesn’t contain and has not been processed on equipment shared by soy, nut, egg, shellfish, or wheat. It also shouldn’t have too much sugar or salt [though some brand sneak it in], but please read ingredient lists)

Prep Time: 1-2 min (if thawed) 30 min (if not thawed fast thawing method listed to avoid this time)

Items Needed:

-Bowl

-Cutting Board

-Knife

-Measuring Cup

-Gloves (optional)

-Butter Knife or spoon

Prep:

1. Wash hands and tools.

2. Allow the cream cheese to thaw. This can take up to 30min if it has been in the fridge overnight. You can microwave it in a microwave safe bowl (most that are safe are BPA Free please double check) for 15-30 seconds a block depending on the wattage of the microwave if short on time.

3. Rinse the plastic if recycling or repurposing.

4. Put on your gloves (optional).

Make Time: 5 min or less.

Make:

1. Chop chives into small pieces (about 1 handful) then place into a bowl (larger bowls make mixing easier).

2. Put ½-1 softened block of cream cheese into the bowl.

3. Add garlic salt. I do 1-2 dashes of garlic salt (due to the strong flavor of the brand I use), but you can adjust to taste.

4. Add ½ -1 cup of parmesan to the bowl.

5. Mix together with your hands for an even spread.

6. (optional) put in the microwave for 30 seconds to melt the parmesan cheese

7. Use a knife or a spoon to spread the dip over the desired items.

8. Enjoy this dip over crackers, chips, veggies, or even as a cooked meat spread.

Serving Size: 1 Cereal Bowl (that's what I used)

Amount of Calories per serving size before chips/crackers/veggies:

(1 block and 1 cup of the cheese): 910

(½ block and ½ cup of the cheese): 470

(a small spread over celery): 58 max (if you are being generous) closer to 20 (a normal thin spread)

Cost (plus the spices I used at my local grocery store): $9.20
