From Omnivore to Vegan

So, you are thinking of going totally vegan. You've been having second thoughts about the environment, saving our planet, your health, feeling sorry for the animals, your weight, etc.

We live in a fast world, where we get up to run the race every single day. It doesn't matter if you're a kid, you have to get up and get ready for school. As a teenager, the same applies, you get up, you're usually late because you went to sleep late, you have to speed through the morning to make it on time to class. As an adult, no longer in school, you still have to get up and run the race, you speed up through your morning to fight traffic to get to work on time.

Most of the time none of us get up with enough time to make ourselves or our family a healthy breakfast. Our kids are dropped off in school most likely hungry with an empty stomach until lunch time. They are starving so they're going to grab whatever is there which is usually fast food, such as pizza, burgers, hot dogs, bread, bread and more bread, fried chicken, french fries, etc. Lots of soda and lots of cow milk.

They get out of school starving again and the first thing they want is fast food because they want food and they want it fast! You know, the usual, there is a fast food restaurant every other mile which makes it way easier and faster for anybody starving to pick up a Burger, pizza, french fries, extra cheese, potato chips and plenty of soda and with the convenience of home delivery, we can also order breakfast, lunch and dinner, what an amazing world we live in nowadays, we get everything we want delivered to our doors with a click of a button.

It has been estimated that 70 percent of the population of the United States alone will become obese within the next twenty years or so. Our children are being diagnosed with diabetes more than ever before. Heart disease is still the number one cause of death. Let's not forget all the other diseases that follow such as cancer, skin diseases, stomach ulcers, etc.

When we don't feel good and we visit our doctor the first recommendation we get is to stop eating meat and to exercise. We all know that as meat lovers this is impossible. We prefer to die of a heart attack before we stop eating meat. As a matter of fact when are told not to do something is when we really go ahead and do it! The only thing that is going to stop us is laying in a hospital bed were they control our meals or actually dying of a heart attack. By then is already too late.

It is now obvious that unless we take it into our own hands, we will be doomed. It is sad to see so many people struggling to just walk a few steps without going out of breath due to their body weight. So many people can no longer go up the stairs. So many can't cross their legs when they sit or tie their shoelaces anymore.

The good news is that we can do something about it. The bad news is that most of us won't. The only way we can save ourselves is by taking action. We have to make drastic changes and leave our comfort zone. We need to change around the way we eat, switch around the things we eat. We need to go vegan! We need to switch soda for water, sweet processed juices for natural smoothies. It has been proven, we do not need animal protein to survive. The protein myth has been broken!

If you don't believe me, do your own research, you can search for athletes and body builders that went vegan. You will find thousands of articles and testimonies that will enlighten you.

If you think about it when you go do groceries, for those of you that still cook at home, when it comes to the meat section you will find chicken, pork, beef, lamb, goat, turkey and that's it! When you go to the produce section, what do you see? There is a garden of produce in abundance! I mean just look around the entire produce section. We see so many different vegetables in so many different colors that we get overwhelmed. Most of us have no idea what we are looking at. After all we did not grow up eating any of it except the usual, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and maybe an avocado.

Now if you stop to think about it for a few minutes, just think about this. How come the animals we eat, don't eat us? And now to make you really think about it, how come the animals we eat, don't eat animals? Doesn't this tell you something? Who's the animal, looks like we are. Things that make you go Hm.

Plenty of scientific research has already proven that we can live longer, better and happier lives if we consume a whole foods plant based diet. And the word diet does not mean that we have to go on a diet, it's just a term used to refer to when we change our meals for healthier foods. Yes, consuming whole foods plants is eating actual natural food! Natural food, meaning mother nature makes it for us, we don't even have to cook it, most of it comes ready to eat. All we have to do is become a little more creative and start experimenting with different spices to make ourselves some very tasty vegan meals!

Think about it. We have garlic, onions, bell peppers, black pepper, cilantro and thousands and thousands of different spices that we can up with to naturally give our foods delicious flavors. I mean, plants won't probably make us lick our fingers like a piece of chicken will but why do you need to lick your fingers? That's nasty anyway.

So many people have changed their life around by changing what they eat and changing their lifestyles around. If you want to get healthy and lose weight you need to start by educating yourself. Read about other people that are doing it, those that are struggling and not giving up. Read about those that went vegan years ago, see how their life changed for them.

There is so much free information online that we have no excuses to say we didn't know. You can get everything from what products to buy, what condiments will give you the best flavors, a million different menus with a million different recipes to keep you making delicious vegan meals. The best thing about it is that once you have changed your life around and you see yourself looking healthier, feeling better, sleeping better, having more energy, exercising with ease, you will come to the realization that you have been eating the wrong food for your entire life.

One way for you to see for yourself that vegan is a way of life, is for you to go to your doctor now, get some blood test done, get the results, frame them in your kitchen. Then clean out your Pantry, your refrigerator, get rid of all animal products, fill your fridge with all sorts o leafy greens, vegetables and all types of colorful produce. Get creative in the kitchen, follow as many vegan people as you can on social media so your feed is constantly bombarded with deliciously looking vegan meals, this will give you ideas and will help you get creative in the kitchen.

After you see for yourself how good you look and how healthy you feel and how much medication you got rid off while at it. Go back to your doctor, get another blood test and compare the results. And remember this: The pharmaceutical world is not interested in your health. They need you to keep coming back for more. The last thing they want you to know is that your food can be your medicine. There is no money many on healthy people, and the only way to be healthy is to eat a wholefoods plant based diet.

There are so many documentaries online and on Netflix that you can watch to enlighten you about this subject. I personally saw the documentary Forks over Knives, Cowspiracy, Food Inc, The Gerson therapy and countless others. I was so convinced that if we eat what mother nature intended for us to eat, our food can be our medicine and so I ended up becoming a certified nutritionist.

I lost 35 pounds. I am 53 Years old, I weigh 130 pounds and I don't take pills, I have a 20/20 vision, I cancelled my health insurance which is saving me a lot of money since I don't ever get sick and I've never felt better in my life. Vegan is my way of life. I used to eat a lot of meat. If I can do it, so can you and I am sharing this because I do care.
