Let's be honest here, the excitement and the hype around Super Bowl Sunday isn't only for the games. It's all the works, the performances and the prep and the perfect excuse to binge on snacks and eating without the finesse and cutlery. A mindful binge of course, so we aren't regretting it soon after.

I personally don't have a clue about what's happening game wise. I am here for the half time performance by The Weeknd. Until then I am going to throw in this list of fun ,no-fuss list of snacks with a hint and sliver of hope of a healthy ingredient in there. That's my balance game at it's best. It's all about the balance isn't it?

Starting off with drinks. I'm a total non fizz, nothing-carbonated-kind-of person. So y'all can do your pop and beers while I share this beauty of a gem I discovered recently. Behold! Arizona Hard Tea released in the summer at about $3.00 per can. It's Green Tea blended with premium vodka at 5% alcohol content. Plus points for added honey and ginseng flavor. I will warn you, if this is gonna be your choice of drink for the evening, your gonna have to stock up. The flavor of green tea masks the alcohol and you barely taste it, and these come in smaller 473ml cans, so these are gonna be downed in no time. Remember how Arizona Green Tea always came in tall 680ml cans and then the gallon size? They know we chug through that stuff fast!

Next up is another new exciting discovery of an absolute unusual snack. The Taokenoi Big Roll Seaweed, available at select T&T stores in Canada or online on Amzon about $3.50 for a bag of 6 rolls. They're a massive roll of grilled nori sheets. They have an original flavor and a spicy one too. The spicy ones in the red package are the bomb, perfect for a little spice during the games. Fiery hot, sweet and crunchy all at once, this snack is not going to disappoint. In fact there is so much going on all at once, I will recommend you mentally prep yourself for the first bite. Green healthy plus points for seaweed here.

As promised no cutlery involved in this list, our Go-To finger food is Nachos for the games. The recipe is as simple as, what you see is what you get. Lay a bed of plain Tortilla chips, toss in the veggies and toppings of your choice and layer with cheese. Make sure you get some Mozzarella in there for the texture and a mix of other cheeses for the flavor. My personal secret ingredient is adding a bed of refried beans over the chips before the toppings. Bake for 15-20 mins and top off with salsa, cilantro and a good squeeze of lime before you serve. My personal favorite brand is the La Cocina Tortilla chips about $3.50 for a bag of 400gms available at most London Drugs stores in Canada. These chips are super light weight and thin and work like a charm.

Dessert is the crucial part of the snacking game. Here we have picked two. Simple Box Brownies, this time made easy in the Air fryer. Cuts your time in half an saves you the pre-heating time. For the grand end we have Flan or Creme Caramel, for multiple reasons. Single serve dishes so we each have our own and for the plus points its all egg and milk no flour or butter involved in this dessert. Here's the simple no fuss recipe:

Personally tested tweaks : Add 3 egg yolks to the eggs

Add 200ml cream if you are daring and want to go big for the games. I used 700ml 3.25%whole milk for mine and they turned out fabulous and delicious.

That's the easiest fun and exciting line up of snacks, to give a shot. Treating our pallets with a sprinkle of healthy ingredients while we feed our soul with the heavily anticipated performance by Abel. What's our next excuse for another evening of munchies?
