Have you ever thought to yourself "man, this is good but it could be so much better if we add smoked salmon!" No? hmmm, maybe it's just what we think here at Kodiak Island Smokehouse.

You see, we add smoked fish to literally everything! After all, that is what we do. We smoke wild caught authentic Alaskan smoked fish every day, and we love what we do!

Using our "secret" non-GMO, gluten-free, and paleo-friendly recipe, smoking with a blend of hardwoods and apple wood chips, we use a time-tested brine that is all natural, with no nitrates, no artificial flavoring, or color and then slow smoke your fish to perfection.

See, there's no wonder why we add smoked fish to every recipe we can get our hands on. When we started experimenting with recipes for Easter, smoked salmon and deviled eggs was just a no-brainer.

Imagine you are with your family on Easter Sunday and the highlight of the day is watching the kids gather Easter eggs for the famous Easter egg hunt. The smell of fresh cut grass still lingers in the air and the children's anticipation is only growing as you decide where to hide the plastic eggs.

These memories will last a lifetime and it is only fitting to include great food with great company so that when you look back on these memories, not one detail will be out of place.

What would make the perfect spring recipe? What food would go great with the spirit of Easter? Deviled eggs of course! But, not just any deviled eggs, wild Alaskan, smoked salmon deviled eggs.

Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce to you Devilishly good, Smoked Salmon Easter Eggs!

Ingredients

  • Hard boil 6 eggs (allow to cool then peel and set aside)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1/2 c mayonnaise
  • 3-4 oz Kodiak Island Smoked Salmon (bones, skin, and gray undercoat removed)
  • 3 Tbs dill pickles diced
  • 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/8 tsp of horseradish
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Instructions

Carefully cut the hard-boiled eggs in half lengthwise. In a bowl scoop out the egg yokes and put them in the bowl. In a separate bowl or plate place the egg whites and set aside. Using a fork, smash the egg yokes, then add the green onions, mayonnaise, Kodiak Island Smoked Salmon, dill pickles, dijon mustard, horseradish, and salt. Using the fork mix all the ingredients together making sure to thoroughly mash the yokes. Now re-stuff your egg yokes back into the egg whites. Go heavy you will have lots of extras.

*Bonus idea, dice the egg whites and add them to the egg yolk mixture, mix well. then spread this mixture on your favorite bread add some lettuce and a tomato for a unique sandwich.
