This is one great jar of overnight oats that I have been making and eating lately. I love food in mason jars. It looks so beautiful. They make the perfect decorations and not just meals.
Here is what I have been putting into this jar of overnight oats.
- 2 cups oats
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1/2 cup chocolate melts
- Fill remaining space with sliced bananas (about 1/4 cup)
In the morning, I just scoop the whole thing out and into a bowl. It makes enough for a full meal or two smaller breakfast bowls. I usually just pour myself one big bowl and have a little bit left over.
I am glad that this breakfast exists because I do not have to put any thought into what I eat in the morning. It is already prepared the night before. Simple to make, easy to wake up to.
Chocolate-banana is one of my all-time favorite food combinations—I can have just about anything with it: smoothies, ice cream, chocolate-dipped bananas, overnight oats, cookies, cakes, all so delicious! What I love about these oats is the freshness of the bananas and the rich taste of the chocolate chunks. I cannot wait for the taste of them when I first wake up in the morning. It completely satisfies my chocolate-banana cravings. The taste of oats is also a morning favorite of mine. These oats make a great addition to any early morning breakfast meal plan.
These jars are also easy and fun to make. I enjoy putting them together at night. Just filling the layers of creamy oats, pure chocolate, and fresh bananas makes me happy. When it is done, I put it into the refrigerator to make certain all of the ingredients stay fresh for the next morning. Of course, it looks really nice, so it also makes a great gift. I wouldn't wait too long to tie a bow around a jar of it and give it to someone so that they can take time to enjoy the fresh taste of breakfast.
I love finding ideas like these to fill jars, decorate my kitchen, and post the pictures on Instagram. I will probably put more Instagram pictures up soon. I only have a couple on there right now, but they are still fun to look at. I know I can spend hours looking through Instagram for pictures of overnight oats and other food and crafts in jars.
It is not too hard to get a hold of a good, clear, glass jar. You can pick one up at your local craft store, re-use an old, thoroughly cleaned out, and washed properly food jar, or see if your local dollar or thrift store has one that is non-toxic and safe to use for food. What is great about them, is you can wash them out and re-use them over and over again. There is no need to buy too many because once you have one, you can use it for a really long time. Unless, of course, you give it as a gift...or if it breaks. The jars are really good and useful, though. Mine last a long time. I keep them stored in a place where I know I can quickly grab them to make-ahead meals. It saves me a lot of time and money.
I recommend trying out breakfast oats; they make a healthy and fulfilling start to my day. I love a good breakfast that gives me a lot of wonderful energy to start my day. I personally feel these oats make me feel more awake in the morning and help me get a lot done before even lunchtime happens.
