RICE KRISPIE POPSICLE TREATS!

It is officially summertime and I’m super excited because now it’s all about spending as much quality time with the kiddos as possible before before the start of the new school year! As you guys already know… It is definitely going to be a particularly rough transition for me because the kids will be in kindergarten and will be away from home for a little longer each day so I’m going to do as much as I can to spend as much time with them as possible!

What better way to spend quality time with your kiddos then to do fun activities like cooking?

On this particular day, the twins and I decided to make a super fun snack for the kids for our first official summer play date we had scheduled!

These are super super fun to make and they incorporate a food item I grew up with! Rice Krispie Treats!

Rice crispy treats are actually one of my absolute favorite fun sweet snacks and this recipe really brings me back to the days when we made the rice crispy treats from scratch with the marshmallows and all of that! The beauty of this recipe is that you don’t have to make the rice crispy treats from scratch… You can actually buy them in store and this takes half of the prep time out of the equation! (or you can make them from scratch as part of this recipe and have even more fun making them with your kiddos!)

Here are the items you need:

Rice crispy treats - you can either make them from scratch or you can buy them store-bought)

Meltable chocolate - We purchased milk chocolate melts and we purchased white chocolate melts

Popsicle sticks

Sprinkles or whatever toppings you would like to add to your rice crispy pops!

Let’s begin!

First up you are going to stick your rice crispy treats onto the popsicle sticks.

Then you’re going to melt the chocolate melts in the microwave… In this case we got these from target… The only required one minute and 45 seconds in the microwave.

Once we melted the chocolate melts we let it cool just a bit because it is going to be a little hot. We then dipped our rice crispy treats into the chocolate and soon after, sprinkled our rice crispy treats with sprinkles.

We let them cool off and they were ready to go!

Guys this is such a super fun recipe to try and you can get super creative with it! The twins had a blast making them and they were a huge hit at the playdate with the other kids! (And the adults too!)

It's been so much fun coming up with fun new things to create with the twins! We are looking forward to creating even more fun recipes like this to share with you guys so definitely stay tuned for more from us!

The best part about these treats is there was literally no mess whatsoever and no major dishes to clean so I know you guys will definitely love that! Trust me...we don't need to wash anymore dishes than necessary am I right?! :)

We are definitely going to do this again and switch it up for different holidays and different get togethers that we have… I mean imagine making these for Independence Day… You can literally make red white and blue Rice Krispie pops!

I hope you guys enjoyed this recipe! Stay tuned for more!
