White tea is the one in which buds and the youngest leaves predominate when they still have white, silky down. The delicate white buds are only uprooted by hand for only two days a year, just before the leaves open.

Like green or black tea, white tea comes from the Camelia Sinensis plant, a plant that we will discover in over fifty countries around the world. I mention here the most important ones such as China, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Argentina, etc. As the main feature would be the weaker, sensitive scent of white tea, it does not have a strong aroma, moreover, when we enjoy it has a subtle aroma that lasts.

The best-known variants of white tea are Silver Needle (Yin Shan Yin Zhen), Pai Mu Tan (White Peony Flowers), Show Mee, China Mao Feng Organic, White Cremant Sorbet Tea (a precious blend of Mao Feng tea and Pai Mu Tan along with a variety of selected fruits), tea-blooming tea flowers.

The main properties and benefits of White Tea:

  • contains the lowest level of caffeine.
  • it should not be prepared with hot water.
  • is a good purifier and companion in diets for weight loss.
  • prevents cancer because it inhibits inflammation, prevents the growth of tumors.
  • reduces cholesterol levels, blood pressure and improves heart function.
  • improves the health of bones, teeth, and the immune system.
  • has the highest level of anthocyanins and disease-preventing antioxidants (known as polyphenols).
  • contains minerals, volatile oils, and vitamins A, B, C, and E.
  • it increases the overall energy level, the power of concentration and helps to have a good memory.
  • fights acne and has a strong anti-cellulite role.

How to enjoy the benefits of white tea?

1. Always buy good quality white tea

The best white teas are infusions. They have a quality and aroma superior to tea in an envelope, which usually contains crushed leaves until almost powdery stage. Here you can see our selection of white teas.

2. Infuse it for 3–5 minutes in hot water

Like green tea, white tea should be made with hot water, but not boiling. If you want the tea obtained to have a more intense aroma, it is preferable to increase the infusion time rather than using hotter water. Always follow the instructions on the package to make sure you get the best results.

3. Drink 2 cups of white tea a day

Studies show that 2–3 cups of white tea a day bring you more health benefits than a single cup. In general, white tea can be reinfused at least 2–3 times. When you reuse the tea leaves, let the tea brew a little more than the previous brew and you will be surprised to notice new flavors and shades.

4. Create your tea ritual

What tea may be more suitable for a break than white tea? The soft taste of white tea, a comfortable chair, quiet music… all creates the perfect recipe for a relaxing afternoon. To enjoy the color of white tea, you can try to prepare it in a glass teapot.

5. Give a white tea to your loved ones as a gift

White tea is a special gift, especially for lovers. The person you are giving it to will enjoy your gift for a few weeks, and in addition, you will know that you have made a gift with real health benefits.

6. Try new varieties of white tea

The world of tea offers a wide variety of tea varieties. If you can, try a new tea every month. Explore and experiment with new varieties, even after finding your favorite white tea.
