The Trouble With...(Pt. 11)
Gosh, how I love to swim. After all these years, I still want to be in the water all summer long. I love the smell of the water. I love to fish. I love to be out in a boat. Being near open water is healing to my soul. If I’m stuck with going to a pool, then I guess that’s what I’ll have to use. I don’t prefer them, but they are fun!

The Trouble With...(Pt. 5)
“Hell Is For Children.” It’s a powerful song. It is about child abuse. It is also a great rock song. And if you happen to play that music all of the time, your kids will hear it. If you aren’t paying attention, don’t worry! They are. While you might not think it makes any difference because you are so used to hearing it, rest assured, it does!

The Trouble With...(Pt. 4)
Kids get bored in school. All kids get bored in school. Smart kids get down-right fed up with school. If you know this is happening with your child, should you work with the teacher to challenge the student? We thought we needed to do that with Justin. Otherwise, he would waste his time in school. As parents of a child prodigy (because all parents feel that way about their children, right?), we tried to keep him interested in his schoolwork.

Some days
My dear son and angel . My strong and sturdy boy . The kindest and gentlest child I ever met . The most gracious type of love. The only kind of hope I can have . The sweetest type of person I’ve ever met . Someday this time will be that just a memory into our better life . Just a momentary set back for life . Someday we will look back and only the good memories will stand. No more times of worry only times of hope.

The Dear Little Fairy
Far, far away in a Venus flytrap there lived a Dear Little Fairy… Actually, come to think of it, she wasn’t very dear at all. No, not one bit. In fact, she was positively dreadful. The kind of fairy who was always grumpy - except when someone else got hurt. Then she couldn’t stop laughing.

tips for new parents!
First-time parents are surprised to find that the addition of one (or more) exquisite, small, and helpless person(s) can make them feel joyful and competent one moment, and small and helpless themselves the next. It is not unusual to see fatigue, fear, and self-doubt co-exist with pride, unsurpassed love, and hope. For many years, The Freedman Center staff and New Parents Groups Facilitators have provided support for first-time moms and dads. Their experience shows that parenthood is the great equalizer; all new parents, regardless of circumstance, share a remarkably similar journey. The following tips, time-tested by the Freedman Center, have helped thousands of parents begin that journey successfully.

Struggles of A Mom
I became a mom at a young age, 17 to be exact. I ended up getting pregnant with my first-born halfway through my senior year with a guy I should not have even given the time of day to. He did not go to school with me and there should have been no reason for us to have ever known each other. But somehow we crossed paths and decided to see what would happen.
