Life in EAST vs WEST

As a citizen of South Asia, living In Pakistan; I can see every citizen of the country aspiring to immigrate to the West for a better life.

So I feel it is inevitable to draw a comparison between the life of the East and the life of the West.

Here is the list of two of the most significant things that act as pull factor to keep people in their countries

1- Family life ( the most important one )

Living in one's hometown is a dream for everyone. In life, human beings love to associate, meet and communicate with people of their clans and tribe. Common language and culture are joint points of interaction.

Family means immediate parents and siblings. The joy of life is with parents indeed.

I know one of my friends, he has traveled to almost 70 plus countries, he is an airport designer by profession. He got offers from European countries to get a PR with all the perks one could imagine, but he chose to stay in his country i.e Pakistan because of his mother.

Hence, a person living in the East would always aspire to live with his loved ones unless the burden of finances forces him to travel abroad for a living.

2- Happiness and peace.

Happiness is always found in association. Be it family or friends. A person living in the East would always prefer to live in his country where He can feel jubilation in the company of his friends.

The Above two factors that I have mentioned are the pull factors that forces Eastern men and women to stay in their homeland

3- Community and Support Systems:

Living in one's own country can also provide access to strong community and support systems. Family and friends are likely to be close by, providing emotional and practical support during challenging times. Additionally, familiarity with local institutions such as hospitals, schools, and government offices can make navigating these systems easier and less daunting.

Let's discuss the most important Push factors that are leading to huge numbers of people leaving their countries and they are immigrating to the West

1- Lifestyle ( Food , shelther, and basic livelihood)

West provides with amazing quality of life. The food is hygienic, people are honest, and electricity is ubiquitous and cheap. Transport is fast and hygienic. The necessities of life are easily available at reasonable rates. The air is fresh, the water is clean and most importantly life is disciplined.

2- Financial opportunities manifold ;

This is the biggest push factor that attracts the attention of people of the East in the west.

One of my came from The USA in 2020. He was taking almost $5000 a month in Arizona as an engineer. owing to Covid, he had to return to Pakistan

I asked him, Mr. Yousaf, what's the best thing about the USA?

He said , "You pick a brick and you see a job under it "

This is why, the west attracts millions because the employment opportunities are unlimited there.

3- Political and Social Stability:

Another reason people may immigrate from the East to the West is to escape political or social instability in their home countries.

Conflict, war, persecution, and other forms of violence can make life difficult or dangerous, and may prompt individuals and families to seek refuge in more stable Western nations.

Additionally, Western countries often have more robust human rights protections, greater freedoms, and a more inclusive social and political environment, which may be attractive to immigrants seeking a better quality of life.
