Am I Ready to Become a Mom? Have I Done Everything That I Have Wanted to Do? Have I Become the Person That I Think I Should Be?
I was 23-years-old when I became a mom in December of 2000. I was not ready and I knew that. However, I loved this little guy more than anything. I was the most terrified that I have ever been. From the contractions, (by the way, I had no idea what they were supposed to feel like), to the labor, when I heard the woman in the next room screaming bloody murder, to the emergency c-section that needed to be performed, IMMEDIATELY!

Pregnancy and Labour
Well, where do I start? I always knew giving birth was going to hurt but I honestly didn’t anticipate what happened! All labours are different. Each woman has different circumstances. Me? Well, I have a condition called Spina Bifida Occulta. Usually this causes no pain and only 5 percent of the population has this condition (according to a specialist), but I feel very unlucky now. We discussed pregnancy and labour and how my condition would affect it. We knew the pain would get worse due to the additional weight my back had to carry, only at this point I cannot control it with painkillers. I got on with it, plenty of rest, nothing too strenuous.

Mom to Be
My husband and I have been together since 2012. We have recently decided that now is a good time to try and start a family. We just got a house, we both are in a steady position in our jobs, and I am about to hit my 30th birthday. The plan that I have always had is that by the time I was 30, I would have at least 1 child. So we decided that now is “GO TIME”.

Single Parent Travel Guide
Single parent families are now prevalent in our society but advice on traveling as a single parent is woefully lacking. I have far too many friends that are too nervous to travel with their kiddos on their own. This makes my heart heavy, because there are so many great memories to be made by traveling. So I'm here to encourage you to be brave and take that trip, even if you're out-numbered.

Things to Know About Being Pregnant
Pregnancy has the same symptoms as a period, so it can be confusing at times and make people become in denial. Some people brush off their actual pregnancy symptoms, thinking it's their period coming. I'm going to list a few symptoms and myths about pregnancy. A Beautiful Ride for Motherhood
*As this is my first time ever blogging, please excuse any awkwardness.* I did not know what was to come from such an exciting result. I took the at-home pregnancy test in the morning as soon as I woke up. I went to the bathroom, sat down, and urinated on the stick just as the package directed, OH SO VERY CAREFULLY put the cap on and set it in the flattened wrapper on the bathroom counter, finished my business and washed my hands while continuously watching the result window trying to contain the anticipation and excitement. As I came back to bed, I was trying to hide my smile. I handed my fiancé the test and he asked me what it said. Of course, I did not say anything to give it away but I knew he could tell. I waited to see his reaction as he pulled out our first positive pregnancy test. Not even a month prior I had a blood test due to a late period that my doctor said was negative. I had a feeling that she was wrong and that the bleeding was not menstrual related. We could not be more thrilled until...

What the Loss of a Loved One Taught Me
Death has always been a tough subject, and we all fear that day when we lose a loved one. That day came to me six years ago, when I got the call that my best friend had died in a car crash the night before. I was devastated, but through this experience, I was able to learn some very important life lessons. These lessons, though difficult, helped shape me into the person that I am today.
