Does Dr. Dre have Bulletproof Wallets?

The pioneering producer may have to fork over his funds

It appears as though super producer and hip hop legend Dr. Dre is living his best life after his divorce from Nicole Young. She, on the other hand, is currently down to a mere million dollars to her name after paying her attorney fees. This is probably why she’s coming after Dre’s money again, after discovering he’s burned through seven million dollars in only five months.

In the past, Dre has been accused of domestic violence, but it is unclear whether Young’s accusations are true. Dr. Dre hasn’t exactly admitted to beating her, that’s for sure. But it’s possible Young is motivated to go after his money by pain and suffering only.

Young might have a case, if she can persuade the judge she deserves it. She just better not claim it’s just too hard to lean back in a chateau in sunny California. When it comes to Dr. Dre, he has been finding all kinds of artwork and other expenditures, and taking in all of the perks of being a mult-millionaire approaching billionaire status. In his personal accounts, Dre reportedly possesses nearly $190 million in reserves.

The rapper/producer said he had a prenuptial agreement. Young says otherwise. She says he owes her from a period where he shredded the paperwork. Dre maintains he did nothing of the sort.

Of course high-profile figures are always targeted for money when relationships go south.

Without evidence supporting her claims though, Young would seem to be delusional to try to get money from her former husband.

Dr. Dre should be smarter about his money, yes, but he should also keep his hands to himself when it comes to his love interests. If Young breaks down in front of the judge with her measly million dollars, compared with Dre’s tens of millions in cash, she might just win the case.

If the both of them settle out of court, it appears Dr. Dre will drop a few coins on her head just to appease her. If the squabble goes before a judge, Dr. Dre may have a point. When asked whether he is living a lavish life, he should stand up and say, “Yes, and I’m loving it. This woman doesn’t deserve the money I’ve earned.”

With the option to make her own money, Young should pay off her legal fees and invest the remaining funds into a music group. She should be able to build an empire like her former husband, associating with or signing talent bigger than Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, and Eminem amongst a host of other artists. She should be able to create production for these potential hip hop stars.

She also ought to be able to develop technologies like Beats Electronics. She should have the know-how on how to navigate the industry of music and technology. Who is to say she can’t do all of this? As long as Dr. Dre refrains from further spousal abuse, he may not have to pay Young a red cent beyond the temporary money a judge ordered him to pay her. Dre seems to be a hothead and has a long list of women who claimed abuses against the hip hop titan and builder.

As the money he rightfully earned pays for artwork and other extravagant expenses, Dr. Dre should play his position and stand firm on the prenup. In every chance he has, he should speak out against spousal abuse and the benefits of knowing the difference between starting force and self-defense. If he can show spouses how to settle differences amicably, that will be the best thing he can produce besides the music.
