A gender reveal party went horribly wrong when a small plane crashed, killing the pilot in front of applauding guests who were unaware of the catastrophe happening above them.

The delighted couple hired a small aircraft to fly by and drop either pink or blue coloured powder to identify the gender of their unborn child while they were celebrating their pregnancy with relatives and friends in Sinaloa, Mexico.

The pregnant couple, who were waiting next to an 'Oh baby' sign, were informed they were expecting a daughter as pink smoke from the plane's fuselage was discharged as it drew near them.

The palm trees in the town of San Pedro, Sinaloa, which were in the background of the couple's ideal moment, were passed by the aeroplane as it continued its out-of-control spiral.

The pair proceeded to embrace as family members gave them congratulations before they realised the horror that had taken place.

According to local media, 32-year-old Luis Angel N. was the small plane's sole occupant and the pilot. After the collision, he was discovered laying in the debris.

According to the Aviation Safety Network, he was taken to the hospital but tragically passed away.

Social media users have been sharing videos of the horrific event, and one of what appears to be the wrecked aeroplane revealed the full extent of the destruction.

The gender reveal celebration was being held in a garden, but footage from outside the garden also revealed how the plane continued to whirl through the sky before coming down.

The flimsy aircraft flew over a parking area before crashing into the earth while still spewing pink powder.

It has happened before that a lavish gender reveal party ended in tragedy.

People have come up with more inventive—and risky—ways to tell their loved ones whether they are having a girl or a boy in recent years.

On September 2, as the infatuated pair kissed beneath the pink remnants, shrills and joyful cheers broke out.

The Piper PA-25-235 Pawnee aircraft, however, abruptly soared upward at the same time that one of its wings disintegrated in midair.

During a gender reveal party in rural Iowa in October 2019, a grandma was killed after she was struck by shrapnel from a handmade pipe bomb that her family had constructed to discharge the coloured powder.

At her Iowa home, Pamela Kreimeyer, 56, perished as a result of the explosion's flying debris. She was killed instantly when a piece of metal landed 45 feet distant and struck her in the head.

The family had been "experimenting with different types of explosive material," the Marion County Sheriff's Office revealed. According to the police, the family intended to share the reveal with loved ones on social media.

It is believed that the family filled a homemade stand that was welded to a metal base plate with gunpowder.

A piece of wood was placed on top of the gunpowder after drilling a hole for a fuse in the side, then coloured powder was added on top of the board.

The metal tubing was then accidentally turned into a pipe bomb by wrapping tape over the top of it.

A device a 28-year-old would-be father was creating for his child's gender reveal party exploded, killing him in New York in February 2021.

The gadget allegedly contained a pipe and was being assembled by Christopher Pekny in the garage of his residence in the Catskills town of Liberty when it exploded.

A few weeks before, at a friend's baby shower, another guy was killed in Michigan after he was hit by shrapnel from a gender reveal cannon.
