Eating fruit

Our family loves eating fruit. My daughter, Abby, eats an orange almost every day. And her younger brother, Joe, has recently learned how to make fruit smoothies. His favorite flavor is strawberry.

I go to the fruit market every Saturday morning. Everyone there knows my name because I buy fruit so often. I like to chat with the owner of the fruit market. He tells me all about which fruits are in season, and which farms he gets his fruit from. There are local pear farms nearby.

We have a lemon tree in our backyard, so I don’t have to buy them. Sometimes, Mom uses them to bake a lemon cake. However, today she’s going to make her yummy apple pie!
