By observation and interaction, Quickbase seems to want to connect with their customers more and help them use the product better. Thus, the reason for the annual Empower event, and Qrew groups, and Customer Success people. This is meaningful and encouraging to the customers.

What do you dislike about Quickbase?

Unfortunately, we have not encountered any other international companies or organizations yet, like ours that use QB. Thus, there are some aspects, like features or product development, that are not fully understood for utilizing such a tool globally with various cultures.

To be honest, there are some irritating technical and practical details that seem primitive and unfriendly. But hopefully those can be opportunities for improvement.

The constant rotation of the sales account reps is frustrating. It does not help make the reputations of those people any better, nor is there much overlap with maintaining relationship - like the CS or Qrew groups.

What problems is Quickbase solving and how is that benefiting you?

International reporting for at least four continents and sub-regions. Our HQ office receives detailed info on a weekly basis. The more frequent and detailed info is, the easier it is for my job of analyzing and sharing observations with my leadership. Managing data flow is an ongoing challenge.

Developing applications to fit into business processes is quick and easy. Power users can create reports for their needs without the need for a developer which for quicker implementations of process changes. The pipelines are helpful to support more complex data updates across multiple repositories. Customer support is expedient and have always been able to solve our problems and answer questions. The user community is friendly and helpful.

What do you dislike about Quickbase?

The sandbox solution needs improvement. Our experience has been that in order to push changes from the sandbox to production, it is an all or nothing migration. Due to the multiple developer environment we are in, this feature is not conducive to our SDLC. On the other hand, this forces us to code changes twice, once in a sandbox copy od production and then again in production. The pipelines, while handy, cannot be shared between developers, unless they are realm administrator. Quickbase does have an audit trail, but the audit trail search needs additional filters. A filter by table would be handy and an increase of the search range to be more than one week. We would also like to see better integration solutions.

What problems is Quickbase solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have developed our commission system QuickBase. This platform is beneficial because our commission incentive programs change once or twice a year. Some incentives are specific to a user. This requires a system that provides flexibility to be able to develop multiple commission rules as well as the agility to implement change quickly.

Quickbase is pretty. The team provides lots of training and support to help users get unstuck and understand the intracacies of the platform. I was able to learn and stand up a very basic app independently withing my first 2 weeks of using the app. I am in QB every day I'm at work and can typically stand up a new upgrade or solution within a few minutes when it's straight forward. Our account manager is easy to contact and very willing to help expand our instance with features and integrations to our proprietary systems. I love that it can be so pretty that people don't realize when they're filling out a form that it's actually creatign a record in this huge web of related data and it's easy to make sure an end user doesn't have the permissions to get in and see or edit anything they shouldn't.

What do you dislike about Quickbase?

Occasionally I run into funky permissions/ default setting that will cause an automation to fail and it becomes a bit of a hunt to figure out what is causing the error, especially as a new user (4 months). Most of my users do not fully understand that it is a very pretty relational database with tons of added functionality so I find myself auditing and correcting thier sloppy data entry because they aren't considering the impact those mistakes have on the data as a whole.

What problems is Quickbase solving and how is that benefiting you?

Quickbase is helping my team take in information about potential partners, track the recruitment process, and acts as a container for all the required documentation both for specific partners as well as for the entire recruitment process. It helps streamline the work and keep everything in one spot so we look to it as our source of truth.
