What happens if human beings sleep for 1000 years and then wake up

human beings sleep for 1000 years and then wake up

If humans ceased to exist, 3.5 million tons of garbage from Japan to California would not be collected. This means that more plastic waste will wander in the streets, forests and oceans. If we wake up 1,000 years later and still have plastic McDonald’s cups around, it’s not surprising. But this is not all bad news, because the disappearance of mankind will have great benefits for the earth and all its characteristics.

"Global Unbelievable" has already thought of 8 surreal hypotheses, if we sleep for 1,000 years, these hypotheses will become reality.

1. There are forests everywhere on the earth.

It will take more than 4,000 years for a severely damaged tropical rainforest to fully recover all its characteristics. That's because human activities make it difficult to complete work faster. Therefore, if there are no humans on the earth, the growth rate of trees and all natural elements will be much faster than expected.

Animals living in the forest will also start to increase in number, because they will have abundant food. Animals are a key factor in the regeneration of cleared forest areas. In addition, trees that like shade will have enough time to find their spots and grow. This process will take more than 160 years.

2. A lot of buildings will collapse.

Most roof tiles used to build houses can last 20-30 years. After that, leaks and other problems will appear, requiring manual intervention to repair them. When your roof starts to leak, it is only a matter of time before the water corrodes your wooden roof and walls. Therefore, the wooden structure will be the first to go.

Glass and metal structures will also begin to decay very quickly. So you can forget all these super tall and fancy skyscrapers where you work. The only building that may survive 1000 years is made of stone.

3. The earth will become pitch black.

On the first day after people fall asleep, most fossil fuel power stations will shut down, causing power outages around the world. Only Times Square and Las Vegas still have a few days of light. All the food in our refrigerator will start to be attacked by cockroaches and rats, and they will now rule the world.

In addition, many pumped subway systems will begin to malfunction, thus flooding the tunnel within 36 hours. In Alaska, oil storage tanks would fill up and explode. Oil will begin to overflow, and gallons of oil will eventually flow into the ocean.

4. Most household animals will become extinct.

Animals like puppies and sheep will be the most vulnerable, and they will be in a very dangerous situation. Even if they stay in the building, they will eventually run out of food and be forced to go out looking for food. Larger dogs, such as German Shepherds, Shepherds and wild breeds, will be able to adapt and protect themselves in the wild.

Cats may also try to adapt to their new lifestyle. However, in order to survive, they will have to be stronger. Dogs escaping from dog trails and dogfighting grounds will not have any survival problems. Their competition and wildness will help them dominate the weaker breeds.

5. Many monuments in the world will become history.

Corrosion is one of the greatest enemies of all the materials used to build all our beautiful monuments. Over time, only gold is not corroded. Today, air pollutants are the number one cause of corrosion and the reason why people must continue to maintain and repair houses today. But even if human activities stop suddenly, this problem will not disappear.

That's because metals will be damaged by the presence of oxygen. This will cause them to rust, and sooner or later will lead to their destruction. Without humans to solve this problem, the damage would be even greater.

6. Vegetation will occupy the city.

If human activity ceases to exist, it will only take about 5 years for vines and ivy to occupy the exterior of the building. For example, the population of Houtouwan Village in China decreased in 2002, and 20 years later, it has naturally taken over. Many buildings have been completely covered by vines and ivy. So you can imagine that in 980, the situation will get worse.

7. Many cities will be flooded.

The reason why cities like Amsterdam still exist is entirely due to drainage systems, dams and bridges. They all keep the ocean away from our cities and prevent disasters such as floods and tsunamis. But if humans are not around to maintain these systems, the power of water will destroy them. A lot of water will enter our city and our former home.

That being said, cities such as New York City, Miami and New Orleans may go underwater. According to today's data, by 2070, the water level in these cities will rise sharply. But if there are no humans around, the time for such things to happen may be much shorter.

8. Humans will have to fight to retake their cities.

Humans will need to fight for survival again, because they need to face wild animals. Their ability to cooperate and work collectively is essential to help them rule all other creatures. They still remember how to make friends with animals, such as cats and dogs. The main difference between the present and the early days is that their old city still exists.

They already have all the technical knowledge and can restore everything to its original state. However, in order to find food and defeat other large wild animals, they must enter a primitive state of mind. However, as mentioned above, their ability to cooperate will help them achieve this goal.
