The casting is superb! Each actor or actress great in their own right but also working together brilliantly. The feminist message doesn't quite land for me... it's a bit of a bummer for little kids, and for adults it's old news.
Overrated, but with some chuckle-worthy moments. Better than Oppenheimer.

Critique - Oppenheimer
Roughly 50% of the frames were close-ups of Cillian Murphy's face either thinking hard about quantum, noticeably aging or rocking an amazing hat. Watch Barbie instead - it's an extravaganza of pink vomit with its own problems, but at least your bladder won't burst two-thirds of the way through it.

Paddington
Michael Bond wrote a series of children's novels and the first one is entitled 'A Bear Called Paddington'. This is the story that introduces a bear from Darkest Peru to the city of London and the Brown family. Paddington is found sitting on a bench at the train station when he is spotted by the Brown family of Mr. and Mrs., Judy and Harry and Mrs. Bird. One aspect of this bear known as Paddington is that he has a love of marmalade sandwiches. In this first book Paddington has many adventures from exploring his new home to going shopping and even making new friends. I have read this book as a child and I even like this one more as an adult.

Definitely agree with your line about the message not quite landing, and trying to hit both audiences probably made this impossible.

I haven't seen either yet, but have heard that Barbie is, if nothing else, a fun time. Not sure IF I'm going to watch either now, I feel like the hype has died in my heart even before it's died in the world.
I won't watch it because pinkness. I have heard mixed reviews too.
I would be more interested in seeing this, maybe - but all that pink does scare me! 👀
