Reason First: Iyanna could face 99 years, Young Chop Arrested Again

Can these two individuals discover rationality?

You wouldn’t think that there would be a connection between two distinct stories. Iyanna Maweather faces up to 99 years in prison and Young Chop received the cold steel of justice around his wrists (again). The linking factor in these different situations is irrationality.

While Iyanna may never see that many years as a sentence, she will most likely do time which will give her ample chances to think, something that she didn’t do a few days ago. And for Young Chop, being under police custody (again) may prove to be beneficial. After being charged with reckless conduct, he should be able to figure out how to not get arrested. Rather than concerning himself with invisible snitches lurking to keep him locked down, he should focus on maintaining contacts with people in the industry. Maybe he could find the works of Ayn Rand while momentarily staying behind the wall.

As for Iyanna, she displayed no amounts of reason in allegedly assailing YoungBoy’s child’s mother. She acted out of whims and feelings and never once thought about how much trouble she would find herself. Regressive education is at the roots of both Iyanna and Young Chop’s displays of unreason. They received the kind of education that says that you should follow your emotions and think later. And that’s exactly what both of them have done. By forfeiting all rationality, they find themselves in the clutches of the law. And rightfully so. Their out-of-control behavior brought them to cell walls. Iyanna of course is the worst of the two. With her alleged stabbing of Lapattra Jacobs, she will forever be known as “The Baby Mama Slasher” despite whatever may come of her case.

That’s the power of reality and the strength of morality. Even if she does her time, the incident will always mar her in some way. For Young Chop, his erratic behavior though trivial by comparison leads one to know that he is unstable. His actions prove that he is somewhat unhinged and that he is blaming the wrong people: snitches. Rats, stoolies, tattlers are the vanguard for helping to keep a society safe. The individual who decides to inform on someone committing a crime is special. But where do they fit in this situation? Did a snitch see the broken window of the Uber car? Was there an informant waiting for Young Chop to run down on 21 Savage?

In Iyanna’s situation, she supposedly stabbed this woman to win over herpes infected YoungBoy. Her reckless disregard for the law positioned her in a tight squeeze. Looking at nearly a century, she has hired J. Prince’s lawyer to help mitigate the punishment for his client.

What Iyanna fails to realize is that in her moments of fury and rage, she would possibly look at decades in a single colored jumpsuit. She never for a moment stopped to think about her actions. With the opportunity to talk, persuade, and reason with her foe, she dashed that chance and headed straight to the knife drawer.

Young Chop’s punishment will, again, be less severe. But that does not excuse his unreasonable behavior. By pointing a finger at a person or persons who allegedly pointed a finger at him, he displays that he is insecure about himself. Young Chop ought to activate his mind to demonstrate how important it is to follow the letter of the law. Iyanna’s disrespect of the law landed her behind bars and given some time, she might consider studying Objectivism. Why can’t Young Chop and Iyanna get together and have book readings through Zoom or Houseparty? They can trade stories about how it is crucial to always think before one acts. Unless they want worse to happen. But let’s not go there.
