2020 - Review

The second season of “Manifest” picks up right where the first one left off, with the reveal of who got shot during the fight between Jared and Zeke. The focus of this season was more on researching the concept of the death date and figuring out a way to overcome it. The show introduces some new characters, including TJ, who becomes a central figure in the narrative. As they continue to follow the callings, the main characters face situations that require them to redeem themselves and take advantage of the second chance they have been given to reset their lives. They learn to forgive, forget and resolve issues that have been holding them back.

Grace, who is pregnant, begins to receive callings as well. Meanwhile, they discover that Zeke’s death date is approaching and his health begins to deteriorate. The stakes get even higher when Cal’s life is also put in danger. As the season progresses, Michaela and Zeke realize their love for each other, and Zeke wants to marry her before he dies. Michaela agrees, but Jared is heartbroken since he still has feelings for her.

Just after their wedding, they discover that Cal is missing. They eventually realize that the three shadows that Cal used to see in his callings are three men who have abducted him. In the season finale, Zeke's death date coincides with the day they must save Cal. Zeke miraculously survives his death date, but how this happens is still a mystery.

Season 2 of “Manifest” was faster-paced, and more mysteries were revealed about the passengers’ disappearance. It is revealed that a sailor named Al-Zura also disappeared and then reappeared after 10 years. The journal he left behind might hold the answers to what happened to Flight 828, and possibly even about the death date.

In a surprising turn of events, the Major dies, and only Saanvi and Robert Vance know this. Additionally, the pilot of Flight 828 recreates the same scenario, taking one more passenger with him, and disappears exactly as the original flight did. The audience is left to wonder what happened and whether there will be any more answers to the unexplained phenomena that continue to haunt the passengers and their loved ones.

In addition to the ongoing mysteries from the previous seasons, season 3 of Manifest takes an even more complex and intriguing turn. With the introduction of a new threat, the "X'ers" - a group of people who are against the "callings" and believe they are a form of evil - the passengers are faced with even more challenges.

As the season progresses, the passengers continue to receive more callings and face new challenges, including a dangerous mission to rescue one of their own from the X'ers. Meanwhile, the search for answers about the death date and the disappearance of Flight 828 leads to some shocking revelations.

For example, we find out that the government has been aware of the callings and the passengers since the beginning, and has been monitoring them through a secret organization called the "Tailfin". The Tailfin has been tracking the passengers' movements and investigating the callings, but their true motives are unclear.

Moreover, a new passenger, Angelina, is introduced, who is revealed to have been on the same flight as Zeke, but disappeared for a longer period of time. She is also connected to the X'ers, and her presence creates even more tension and danger for the passengers.

As the season comes to a close, the passengers face their biggest challenge yet. With the death date for all of them rapidly approaching, they must figure out how to stop it and find a way to survive. The finale episode is full of suspense, with several cliffhangers that leave viewers eagerly anticipating the next season.

Overall, Manifest is a thrilling show that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats with its mysterious and captivating plot. Each season builds upon the last, introducing new characters, twists, and turns that keep viewers guessing. With the future of the show uncertain, fans can only hope for more seasons to come and for the many questions and mysteries to finally be answered.
