Man Tries To ‘Barbecue’ Sex Offenders at Motel

Porto-Sierra announced "You’re Going to Die"

By True Crime WriterPublished 2 years ago 3 min read

Sex offenders are high on the list of most-hated individuals in the world, with good reason. Anyone who hurts a child, especially sexually, certainly does not deserve special favors in this thing called life. Moreover, they deserve to spend a long, long time behind bars. If you ask some people, sex offenders who hurt children also deserve to die.

A Plan to BBQ Sex Offenders

Jorge Porto-Sierra had one plan: burn sex offenders to death. Police stopped Porto-Sierra before anyone was injured or died, although it was not due to his lack of trying to “BBQ” them.

With a cigarette in one hand and a jug of flammable liquids in the other, Porto-Sierra walked up to the door of the Friendly Village Inn in Osceola County, Florida, and poured the gasoline over the premises hoping to set the property ablaze and burn to death all of the sex offenders inside.

Porto-Sierra hoped to kill four sex offenders, two of them convicted, by setting their rooms on fire at the Kissimmee hotel.

As he poured the gasoline on the property, he screamed “I’m going to kill you” at one of the residents. Frightened, the man ran back inside his room and called the police.

This prompted Porto-Sierra to bust out a window and pour gasoline inside the room. The man and his roommate escaped through a back window.

Porto-Sierra then drove his black Ford Focus into a parked vehicle sitting in the parking lot that was occupied by two people. He then poured gasoline inside the vehicle.

Police Ruin Porto-Sierra’s Plan

Police showed up before he set the property ablaze. He immediately surrendered and waived his Miranda rights. He told police he intended to “barbecue all the child molesters on fire and kill them.”

“They raped kids, they are child molesters that all live here and deserve to die,” the man told police at the scene. When they asked why he did not go through with his plan, Porto-Sierra said “because you got here too soon.”

Porto-Sierra Charged with Attempted Murder

Police charged the 50-year-old man with four counts of attempted murder.

The charges were later reduced to aggravated assault with a weapon and arson. He was sentenced to five years in prison. He is currently incarcerated at the Taylor Correctional Institution in Perry where he has a tentative release date in 2023.

A “Safe Haven” for Sex Offenders

Osceola County is often considered to be a safe haven for sex offenders since it is not located within any restricted schools, churches, or playgrounds. As such, an influx of sex offenders resides in the area. At the time of Porto-Sierra’s arrest, 430 sex offenders live in the Kissimmee-Osceola County area.

The Friendly Village Inn & Motel is well-known as a popular spot for sex offenders. The motel always has a large number living at the property at any given time. A total of 20 sex offenders listed their addresses at the Friendly Village Inn and Moel at the time of the attack.

Porto-Sierra knew that a large number of sex offenders would be at the motel and used this information to plan his attack.
