John Eisenman's Case

On October 29, 2021, police in Spokane, Washington arrested John Eisenman for the murder of Andrew Sorenson, his daughter's boyfriend. And, according to Eisenman, he did it because Sorenson had sold his daughter into a Seattle sex-trafficking ring the year before.

Andrew Sorensen was reported missing in November 2020, and his whereabouts remained unknown until October 22, 2021, when residents of the 1800 block of East Everett Avenue searched an abandoned car and found his body.

Police noted a "foul odor" coming from the mold-covered car. Zip ties were used to bind the body, and Sorensen's mouth was sealed shut. Puncture marks on his clothing indicated that he had been stabbed. Police then contacted the vehicle's registered owner, who turned out to be Eisenman's fiancée, Brenda Kross.

That's when officials learned that John Eisenman and his fiancée had gone on a quest to recover their daughter in October 2020 after growing concerned that Sorensen had sold her into sex trafficking for $1,000. After apprehending Sorenson, Eisenman murdered him and stuffed his body into the automobile.

John Eisenman said that after his teenage daughter went missing for the first time, he "obtained information" that Andrew Sorensen was responsible. After a lengthy search, Eisenman and Kross were able to locate and rescue his daughter. Then, a few weeks later, Eisenman tracked down and murdered Sorenson.

John Eisenman then allegedly confessed to a neighbor that he had killed someone, which led to his arrest.

When authorities approached Eisenman after the automobile was discovered, he initially stated that Kross' green 1991 Honda Accord had been stolen and that he had no relation to the vehicle or the body inside.

Eisenman was detained on October 29 after his neighbor notified police about his confession. Eisenman then divulged the grisly facts of Sorenson's murder during the subsequent interrogation.

In October 2020, John Eisenman followed Andrew Sorensen down to Spokane's Airway Heights area and confronted him on the street. He then tied him up and kidnapped him before bashing him over the head with a cinderblock and stabbing him in the belly repeatedly.

According to authorities, "Eisenman drove the vehicle to a secluded region in North Spokane County and abandoned the car with the body still inside." "The vehicle stayed at that place until it was moved by another person in October 2021 and driven to Spokane.

Amber Hellman, a nearby resident, discovered Sorensen's remains 10 days before the one-year anniversary of his missing person report. Hellman stated that her boyfriend and his buddy were intrigued by the truck and couldn't resist inspecting its contents on October 22.

"It was there for about three days," she explained. "They went to investigate because it had been lying there for a while, and they discovered the ignition was dangling." And they were simply gazing around when they decided to look in the trunk for some reason. "And all I can hear is 'there's a body.'"

Eisenman was eventually charged with first-degree murder in the death of Andrew Sorensen. His bond was set at $1 million by Spokane County detention services. Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page has been established to cover John Eisenman's legal fees, with many supporters hailing him as a "hero" for rescuing his daughter.

However, no evidence has been found to support Eisenman's claims that Sorenson sold his daughter into prostitution. There are no independent facts to back up Eisenman's account, who was also found to be taking methamphetamine on a daily basis around the time of Sorenson's death.

"We can't confirm the accuracy of any of those assertions," police spokesperson Nick Briggs said. In a statement made shortly after his body was discovered, Sorenson's family also maintained that their son did not sell Eisenman's daughter into sex trafficking.
