The One Chip Challenge is a social media challenge that involves eating a single tortilla chip that is dusted with two of the hottest peppers in the world, the Carolina Reaper and the Naga Viper. The challenge has been around since 2016 and has gained millions of participants, many of whom have posted videos of themselves eating the chip on social media.

The chip is so spicy that it can cause severe burning in the mouth, throat, and stomach. Some people have reported experiencing vomiting, diarrhea, and even fainting after eating the chip. In the most extreme cases, the challenge has been linked to heart problems and death.

In September 2023, the death of a 14-year-old boy in Massachusetts brought renewed attention to the dangers of the One Chip Challenge. The boy, Harris Wolobah, died hours after eating the chip. His family said that he had no underlying health conditions and that they believe the chip caused his death.

In response to the boy's death, Paqui, the company that makes the One Chip Challenge chip, announced that it was voluntarily pulling the product from shelves. The company also said that it would be donating $100,000 to the American Heart Association.

Despite the dangers, the One Chip Challenge continues to be popular. There are still many people who are willing to risk their health for the sake of social media fame. However, the death of Harris Wolobah should serve as a warning to others. The One Chip Challenge is not worth the risk.
