My Dad had an affair with a girl who is my age. He was 50 at the time, and she was in her early 20s.

He married her secretly. Now they have three kids together.

We found out that he had a secret child who is the same age as my son. When I heard the news, I felt sick.

Sick to my stomach.

My mum still cries about it.

They were married for 30 years, and together they plucked us from the ghetto to the suburbs, to the nice part of town.

It’s been a decade since the ugly truth came out.

Being an adult child of divorced parents is gut-wrenching.

I’m still struggling.

But instead of crying every day, I pour my sadness, anger, and pain into my content.

I made $1 million in nine months—the year I found out that my dad chases everything in a skirt.

Pour your energy and emotions into your content. It’s free therapy.

I’d still recommend professional therapy, but content creation is a beautiful release.

Here’s how I made $1 million in nine months after finding out that my dad destroyed my family:

✅ I published five books in nine months (I was a speed demon on the keyboard back then)

✅I negotiated two $100,000 copywriting contracts with big brands

✅ I built two YouTube channels

✅ Published 200 articles on two niche blogs

✅ I made $200,000 in affiliate commissions

I spent a month screaming and shouting, crying, writing in my journal, and drinking alcohol in the morning, afternoon, and evening.

Then, I pulled my big girl pants up, and jumped head first into my work without thinking twice.

I have a therapist now, I talk through everything. I also punch a boxing bag three times a week.

It helps.

I don’t feel sorry for myself anymore, but some days I feel angry, really angry.

There’s nothing wrong with feeling your emotions, and sitting with them for a while. It’s healthy; but these days, instead of drinking alcohol, I write an article, or create a video, or design a product for my apparel store.

The bottom line is:

Creativity saved my life.

How to turn your pain into massive success as a content creator:

Embrace Your Story: Your pain can be a powerful source of inspiration for your content. Embrace your experiences, both good and bad, as they shape your unique perspective and voice.

Authenticity is Key: Share your pain authentically. Audiences resonate with genuine stories, emotions, and struggles. By being authentic, you can build deeper connections with your audience.

Find Your message: Reflect on the lessons you’ve learned from your pain. What insights can you offer others who may be going through similar struggles? Identify the message you want to convey through your content.

Use Your Pain as Fuel: Instead of letting your pain hold you back, channel it into your creative work. Let it fuel your passion and drive to succeed. Use your content creation process as a form of self-expression and catharsis.

Provide Value: As a content creator, your primary goal is to provide value to your audience. Use your pain to create content that educates, inspires, or entertains others. Offer practical advice, share personal anecdotes, or create art that resonates with your audience’s experiences.

Focus on Growth: View your pain as an opportunity for personal and professional growth. Use it to fuel your ambition, drive, and resilience as you strive for success in your creative endeavors.

Seek Support: Don’t hesitate to seek support from friends, family, or professionals if you’re struggling with emotional pain. Surround yourself with a supportive community that encourages your growth and well-being.

Remember, turning pain into success is a process that takes time, patience, and self-reflection. Stay committed to your journey, and trust that your experiences can ultimately lead to meaningful and impactful content creation.
