I thought a myth! what is a Myth. So I trekked through wiki and Safari and basically it’s an “old wives Saying ,” or a fable, a story that “Uncle Bill” alway told us and he was told by his old “Uncle Wilbert.”

So in conclusion a Myth is a tradition or old folk ‘law’ ‘tales’ we have kept maybe due to tradition or searched out for a “answer or remedy”

So depending on the “Story or the Myth” which can be passed down from generation to generation whithout any trace of it or it can be logged and found under the above title, it can be passed on without any given evidence.

Right so the Myth of seven years of “bad luck “ walk on a crack in the roads now pavements, again seven years bad luck” Now this could quite possibly happen as you have now told yourself this is the outcome , so you are living towards it and put thoughts into motion.

I was asked “well isn’t this like saying- Pray all day and tomorrow you will be rewarded with good finances!” Straight away let’s not get into a sticky subject of Myth, fables and religious faith.

We are simply discussing a Myth here. Now a good example of a Myth is a fun , jolly, characteristic memories or dark and dismal. So anyway a Myth I was cutting my Apple and it came away all in one piece and twisted. A voice shrieked that means you will find a partner fall in love and marry in the next six months!

“Really I exclaimed!”

So I read up on this and sure enough if you peeled your apple in one piece and it twists it’s a sign of love and marriage! Now the Myth goes like this

A young woman by the name of Mary Duncan in the Victoria era a couple of centuries ago. It started off with Mary, a secluded quiet, withdrawn girl, petite and rosy cheeks, worked as a chambermaid and also gave a hand in the kitchen. She desperately wants a different life and felt “persecuted“ by her afflictions of “being on her own in a destitute environment at home”

Jenny her best friend would comfort her. One day Mary was so depressed and wrought about not finding a man and marrying that Jenny told her to peel an Apple, no explanation. So Mary proceeded with this task and peeled the whole Apple in one attempt and the peel in one piece curled.

”There you see!” said Jenny

”What! Exclamed in an excitedly and purposefully achieved manner replied Mary with glints and tears in her eyes!”

You are destined to find your true love with the year of peeling your Apple this way.

Sure enough that year Mrs Blunket, head Cook was baking a Wedding Cake for Mary who met Gilbert the Stable help, whom she fell madly in love with.

Now that Myth “Story” gassed been passed down from generations in the years of chambermaid, to cooks and so on.

So one day day me now knowing this myth, thought to try it, to see if there was any truth in the myth.

I peeled the apple and the peel would simply crack, and break into pieces.

Until the year of the Great Depression ended and I peeled my Apple and in one piece it twisted, well I could hardly contain myself.

True enough that year I fell in love and married, now was this just by chance with the Apple peel? Or any truth in the Myth. Like I say I’m keeping to positive Myths rather another of me making a peace offering not sure in peace of what!

So a myth is a Story a tale of something without any shred of scientific evidence only hearsay and passed from generation to generation, yes indeed it can start as “Gossip” or a “rumour” , characteristic tales, however they are interesting to read, learn and look back on.
