They met in a secret location and their love was reignited once more. However their happiness was short-lived as soon after they were discovered by Aaliyah's family and Adam was forced to flee the country. Aaliyah was arrested and brought back to her village where she was shunned and rejected by her community.

In the end Aaliyah paid a heavy price for following her heart and pursuing true love. She lost her family her community and her home. But she gained a new appreciation for the importance of staying true to oneself and following one's dreams no matter the consequences. Adam and Aaliyah continued to communicate secretly and they both knew that they would always love each other deeply despite the boundaries and consequences that stood in their way.
