The beauty industry’s most exciting innovations often begin behind the scenes, with makeup artists who know firsthand what works, what’s missing, and what professionals need in their kits. This November, The Makeup Show is bringing that creativity and expertise to the forefront with The Creative Experience LA, a three-day event celebrating the people and ideas shaping the future of beauty.

Taking place November 6–8, 2026, at the California Market Center in Los Angeles, The Creative Experience LA will feature 25 professional beauty brands, including Danessa Myricks Beauty, Jones Road, Rokael Beauty, Dream Labs, and Depot Chopra. Attendees will have the chance to explore products, discover new techniques, and connect with the artists and entrepreneurs behind some of the industry’s most influential names.

From the Makeup Chair to the Beauty Counter

Behind many successful beauty brands is a makeup artist who identified a need through years of working with clients, creating looks, and navigating the demands of the profession. For these founders, building a brand was a natural extension of their artistry.

Take Danessa Myricks, whose journey as a self-taught makeup artist and love of experimentation inspired Danessa Myricks Beauty. Known for its inclusive, multifunctional products, the brand encourages artists and beauty lovers to push creative boundaries and approach makeup without limitations.

Then there’s Bobbi Brown, who spent decades in the industry discovering that a great makeup routine doesn’t have to mean using more products. Her desire for clean, high-performance formulas that are easy to use and versatile enough for a professional kit led to Jones Road, a brand built around simplified beauty and products designed to work.

Bringing Red-Carpet Glamour to Everyone

For celebrity makeup artist Rokael Lizama, custom lash designs created for clients such as Beyoncé and Ariana Grande became the starting point for Rokael Beauty. What began as a way to deliver distinctive looks for high-profile clients has grown into a brand that brings the precision and glamour of red-carpet artistry to a broader audience.

Alexx Mayo, another artist whose experience behind the scenes inspired product development, knows what it takes to make makeup last. After working on global tours, music videos, and red carpets, Mayo recognized the challenges of maintaining a flawless look under demanding conditions. That firsthand knowledge led to Eternal Priming Water, his first product developed in collaboration with Dream Labs, created with long-wear makeup performance in mind.

Smarter Solutions for the Professional Kit

Innovation isn’t always about another foundation or eyeshadow palette. Sometimes, it starts with the tools and systems makeup artists rely on every day.

Grishan Chopra saw an opportunity to improve the way artists organize and manage their kits. Drawing on her experience in makeup artistry and organization, she created Depot Chopra, a line of professional kit solutions designed to make artists’ workflows more efficient.

Her approach highlights an important part of the professional beauty conversation: the right organization and tools can be just as valuable as the products themselves when it comes to working smarter on set, backstage, or on location.

A Closer Look at the People Behind Beauty

The Creative Experience LA offers a chance to explore the connection between professional artistry and the products that eventually make their way into makeup bags and kits around the world. With 25 pro-driven brands coming together under one roof, the event puts the focus on the experience, creativity, and problem-solving that fuel beauty innovation.

For makeup artists looking to discover new products, learn from fellow professionals, and connect directly with the people behind the brands, the Los Angeles event promises an opportunity to experience the industry from a different perspective. The Makeup Show is one of my favorite beauty events, whether you are a pro beauty artist or makeup enthusiast this is the best show to learn from the top brand owners and makeup artists in the industry!
