Orthodontic problems create a lot of problems for any individual. Difficulty in chewing food, stress on the neighbouring teeth, etc. are some of the general problems experienced. However, one of the biggest problems with the misaligned teeth is degrading the quality of the smile. So, it becomes important to get the proper Orthodontic treatment soon.

Conventional braces are being used for many years for Orthodontic treatment. Although these braces give the nice results of proper teeth alignment, they do not give the nice smile during the treatment process. This is mainly because the conventional braces are made of metals that are easily viewed when you smile or talk. As most Orthodontic treatment takes around 18 to 24 months duration, it is very difficult to sustain such uncomfortable smile. So it is suggested that invisible braces by dentist can be a better way to gain comfort while smiling. The adult invisible braces are commonly suggested by most Orthodontists for the treatment.

What are different types of invisible braces?

There are mainly two types of invisible braces used for Orthodontic treatment: Ceramic braces and SDalign braces.

1. Ceramic braces

Ceramic braces are mainly made of ceramic material which is also blended with other materials. Ceramic braces are not easily visible for a third person as it resembles the color same as that of the teeth. This is the reason that ceramic braces are also called invisible braces. A person can smile openly without any worry of braces getting visible with these braces. However, the other drawback of the ceramic braces it that they cannot be removed easily. A non-removal of the braces makes it difficult to clean the braces and mouth.

2. SD align

SD align is one of the new brands made for Orthodontic treatment. SD align makes it difficult to easily detect for a third person while smiling and talking. One of the big benefits of the SD align is that it is easily removable by the person wearing it. This makes it simpler to clean the aligners and brush properly by removing the SD aligns. This treatment can give a very comfortable experience for the person.

What conditions are managed with the Invisible Braces?

The invisible braces like SD align can help to straighten the teeth. It can help to improve the quality of your smile. More importantly, it can work progressively towards achieving proper teeth alignment.

Here are some conditions which are managed with the Invisible braces:

1. Overjet & Overbite problem

Overjet is the protruding of the upper front teeth in the outward side. While overbite is the excess vertical distance between the front lower and upper teeth set. Both these teeth misalignment problems can be easily treated with the SD align treatment.

2. Crooked teeth

Crooked teeth are the imperfection on the teeth alignment that causes several problems. Difficulty in food chewing, irritation in the mouth, inappropriate smile, etc. are some of the outcomes of crooked teeth.

3. Gap between teeth

Here, there is a little gap between the front upper teeth. The gap between teeth cannot give a better smile to the individual. It also causes the food particles to easily get stuck between the teeth gap.

4. Teeth crowding

In some cases, the teeth starts crowding in a smaller region which makes the smile look improper. There are also possibilities of teeth getting decayed due to difficulty caused during the brushing activity.

How does the SDalign work in proper teeth alignment?

During SDalign treatment, an impression will be taken initially to prepare proper SDalign. These are the invisible braces that cannot be easily viewed by a third person. These invisible braces exert equal pressure from all sides on the desired teeth. They push the desired teeth in a particular direction to get proper teeth alignment. As the teeth movement is slower it will take some duration to get the desired results. After an interval of around 3 to 4 weeks, the Orthodontist will give an appointment to change the aligner set. These new aligners will move the teeth from the current position to the desired position.

How much duration is required for SDalign treatment?

Generally, the exact duration will depend on the amount of complexity of the teeth alignment. Generally, the duration of the treatment will be around 18 to 24 months.

Although the SDalign is a little costly compared to the traditional metal braces, they are very convenient during the treatment process. You can experience great comfort during the treatment. If you are going with this treatment, make sure that you use the retainers after the removal of SD align. SDalign can give better teeth alignment treatment.

Expert Opinion:

Teeth misalignments are one of the complicated problems that need to be treated sooner. SDalign is of the better invisible braces to get proper teeth alignment.
