-- Bio-based bottle caps for Les Eaux de Chanel

At the end of September, Chanel announced that all Les Eaux de Chanel fragrances in 125-milliliter sizes will have a new bio-based bottle cap.

Les Eaux de Chanel Les Eaux de Chanel is a fresh, floral fragrance launched by the Chanel brand in 2018. Inspired by the favorite resort of the brand's founder Coco Chanel, each bottle is named after a city.

Les Eaux de Chanel has a long history of sustainable design. Compared to the brand's other perfumes, the bottle is thinner and lighter, which means less raw materials are used and helps optimize product transportation. In addition, the bottle does not have any shiny coating, ensuring that it can be fully recycled.

The bio-based cap was developed by Chanel in collaboration with Finnish startup Sulapac. According to Sulapac, 91 percent of the cap is bio-based material from renewable sources and FSC-certified wood. It took two years and 48 tests to develop the new cap. To ensure that the packaging touch, the ability to adapt to different temperatures, the bottle cap buckle sound and buckle tight degree, double C logo on the bottle cap design effect and other details are to meet the strict standards of Chanel.

About Sulapac

Founded in 2016 by Suvi Haimi, Laura Tirkkonen-Rajasalo and Antti Prssinen, Sulapac is a company focused on the development of bio-based innovative materials and headquartered in Helsinki, Finland. In December 2018, Chanel Group, through Chanel Parfums Beaute, acquired a stake in Sulapac.
