When our hair is limp, lacking vitality and weak, we often blame nature. In many cases, however, this is due to improper care and bad habits. Here are some tips on how to take good care of your hair.

How to properly care for your hair?

The Proper Diet for Your Hair

The basic building blocks of hair are proteins and minerals. Diets low in iron and zinc should be avoided. Your diet should be rich in vitamins, especially A, D, E, K as well as B6 and B12. The most important minerals for hair health are zinc and copper. Zinc is a micronutrient that is found in greater amounts in the hair than in the bloodstream. If you do not get enough of it, your body will use it to replenish your hair, resulting in brittle, fragile and dull hair. Nutrition should be well-balanced, then our hair strands will be properly moisturized and nourished from the inside and as a result maintain a healthy appearance.

Washing Hair Properly

Washing hair is not only a hygienic but also a caring procedure, so it is important to do it properly. A common mistake is rubbing the hair too vigorously during washing, which can damage it. Instead of gently massaging the shampoo into the scalp with your fingertips, vigorous scrubbing also stimulates the sebaceous glands. It is important to apply shampoo twice if you want to cleanse your scalp properly and remove all impurities and cosmetic residues from your hair. It is also important to rinse your hair thoroughly between shampoo applications. It is important to choose products that are suitable for frequent washing of the hair or suitable for the hair type and thus the accompanying problems such as greasy hair or more serious problems like scalp psoriasis.

Combing Your Hair Properly

The most important thing when combing your hair is the correct direction. We usually do it wrong. The hair should be combed from the neck to the forehead and combed slowly and thoroughly upward. This prevents additional damage to the hair shaft. It is also a good idea to separate the strands one by one and only when you are sure that there are no knots should you use a brush to comb through the entire hair. It is also best to hold the hair at the roots during the final brushing phase to prevent unnecessary tension on the hair roots.

Scalp Peeling

In order to keep your scalp in shape, it is important to scrub your scalp regularly in order to remove impurities, cosmetic residues and dead skin. The important element of scrubbing is the massage, which improves blood circulation in the skin cells, oxygenates the follicles and makes it easier for the skin to absorb nutrients. Scalp peeling can be used regardless of hair type. Indications for scalp peeling are for example hair that becomes greasy too quickly and weak, dandruff, slow hair growth, hair loss, reddened or even irritated scalp.

The Proper Moisturization of Hair

The hair care routine should include products, which contain humectants and emollients. These are substances, which will restore the hydration and elasticity of your hair. Sources of humectants and emollients include honey, hyaluronic acid and lecithin. Hyaluronic acid and lecithin can be found in shampoo. It is also worth considering nutrients and substances that regenerate the hair shaft, such as green caviar extract to restore hair loss caused by mechanical damage as well as physical damage such as hot air from a blow dryer.

In order for your hair to look great, it needs to be healthy, and this largely depends on proper hair care. The inconspicuous things we do to our hair, like brushing it too much, combing it wet or going to bed with wet hair, often weaken its condition. Repeating bad habits unknowingly damages your hair. If you want your hair to stay healthy and beautiful for as long as possible, you need to take care of your hair comprehensively and adopt the right habits.
