We The Monsters

We Come Out at Night

Halloween is about horror and monsters and being scared and going to haunted houses and haunted mazes and getting a thrill. However, most are on the human side of things whereas we monsters and demons only have this one night to cross over and wreak havoc on the mortal world. We want to party with our fangs bared, our wings out and our eyes glowing. These are the songs for us.

This playlist is mostly modern, with some classics sprinkled in for a good, twisted, thrilling mix of alternative bops made just for us monsters who are sick of taking a back seat on a night tailored specifically to us.

Starting out with those timeless classics we have everyone’s Halloween favorites, Thriller by Michael Jackson of course, and a song that it just wouldn’t be Halloween without, Monster Mash, by Bobby “Boris” Picket. These songs are already smash hits and set the mood for any monster party.

Then of course, it’s time to shake it up with a few chilling modern hits…

Insane, by Black Gryph0n, Baasik, really sets the mood for our reality bending feel. While everyone else is focused on being scared, we can focus on doing the scaring. Of course, does that make us insane? I guess we’ll never know.

For all my Werewolves out there, we have a song for you guys called Run, Boy, Run, by Woodkid. Of course we all know man can’t handle our bedazzling transformation techniques. Be sure to stay away from those pitchforks and torches and run, boy, run. Don’t let them catch you while before you catch them.

Mad Hatter, by Melanie Martinez is a dive into Wonderland, the twisted nightmare that it is, of course, not the fairytale those silly humans all believe it to be. We’re all mad here, and when they come to visit they’ll know that better than anyone.

Monster, by Dodie, is a bit of a lighter song for our monsters who have only just crossed over and are just beginning to let the Devil in. This song will easily get you in the spirit and make you want to start dancing with all of us monsters.

Monster, by Skillet, is a bit of a harsher contrast. Some newer monsters aren't yet ready to become Monsters. That’s okay, though. This song is definitely for them. It’s definitely a party song.

Now, of course we have a classic Disney Halloween bop mashed in with the others, as China Anne McClain comes in Calling All The Monsters and encourages them all to dance. We do, after all, only get one easy night of happy haunts.

Monster, by Ruelle, was chosen for our calmer, quieter monsters who like to hide under the bed and give those pesky humans chills at night. A great song to dance to in our true forms.

With other modern songs, like Wicked Ones, by Dorothy, Another Way Out, by Hollywood Undead, Howlin’ for You, by Black Keys, there will be no lull in our party at all.

Of course we have not forgotten about the famous, I Put a Spell on You, for those witches who have an axe to grind, or an ex or a foe to mess with. Because all of us witches are forced to be reckoned with.

All of these and so much more for all of us monsters ready to take over October 31st. Pretending to be human and put on those silly costumes is overrated. At this party, this playlist was chosen specifically for those monsters really wanting to be themselves and raise the roof this Halloween.
