The PMRC's "Filthy Fifteen" Of 1985
A Playlist Of Filthy Songs According to the PMRC In 1985

Introduction
I saw this on Instagram:

I remember the Parents Music Resource Center getting stickers on albums (see above) to say they contained songs that might lead the listener astray. This is the Wiki page:
I found their actions objectionable, similar to what Mary Whitehouse was up to in the UK.
So I thought I would create a Vocal playlist from this list and say a couple of lines about the fifteen songs. They each carry a rating; some are songs I know, some are by bands I like, and I could list a lot of songs that would outfilth these from 1985 or before, so I think this is just a case of the Parents Music Resource Center banging their own drum for people to ignore.
The song ratings are as follows:
X: Profane or sexually explicit lyrics
O: Occult references
D/A: Lyrics about drugs and alcohol
V: Violent content
I don't know if these just relate to 1985, but I could include a lot that are not on this list that the PMRC would not like.
I don't know if this should appear in the Beat Vocal community with a warning, or the Vocal Filthy community (would it need a warning?)
So here we go into this musical cesspit of filth
Judas Priest - "Eat Me Alive" from "Defenders Of The Faith"
Sounds like an animal panting to the beat
Groan in the pleasure zone and gasping from the heat
Gut-wrenching frenzy that deranges every joint
I'm gonna force you at gun pointTo eat me alive
Judas Priest
Eat me alive
Just standard Heavy Metal lyrics for me; I wouldn't play it to my local church congregation, but I am fine with it.
Mötley Crüe - "Bastard" from "Shout At The Devil"
Not a song I know, but again, decently based poodle rock and I would be fine with it on the radio.
Out go the lights
Mötley Crüe
In goes my knife
Pull out his life
Consider that bastard dead
Ok but is this any worse than "Mack the Knife"? Check this out for some violence (it's a Fleetwood Mac "B" side)
Prince - "Darling Nikki" from "Purple Rain"
It's Prince; what do you expect from the diminutive, androgynous musical genius? I Love this.
I knew a girl named Nikki
Prince Rogers Nelson
I guess you could say she was a sex fiend
I met her in a hotel lobby
Masturbating with a magazine
She said, "How'd you like to waste some time?"
And I could not resist when I saw little Nikki grind
Sheena Easton - "Sugar Walls" from "A Private Heaven"
While Sheena Easton started as a typical female UK pop singer, this is so "Prince" like in music and words.
This song was written by Prince under the pseudonym Alexander Nevermind. It, along with Prince’s own “Darling Nikki”, was included in the Parents Music Resource Center’s “Filthy Fifteen” list for containing lyrics too objectionable for children. In this instance, the committee recognised the term “sugar walls” as referring to a vagina.
Lyric Genius
W.A.S.P - "Animal (Fuck Like A Beast)" from "W.A.S.P."
This video is age-restricted, but I found it funny. The words and title are explicit, as you might expect. I've heard that the band name stands for White Anglo-Saxon Protestants or We Are Sexual Perverts. Take your pick.
I do whatever I want to, to ya
W.A.S.P.
I'll nail your ass to the sheets
A pelvic thrust and the sweat starts to sting ya
I fuck like a beast
Mercyful Fate - "Into The Coven" from "Melissa"
This is new to me, with an almost medieval intro before the metal kicks in. Lots of screaching. This falls foul of occult references:
Howl like a wolf
And a witch will open the door
Follow me and meet our High PriestessCome, come into my Coven
And become Lucifer's ChildUndress until you're naked
And put on this white coat
Take this white cross and go to the middle of the ringCome, come into my Coven
Mercyful Fate
And become Lucifer's Child
Vanity - "Strap On Robbie Baby" from "Wild Animal"
Another I have never heard, but poodle rock with some naughty lyrics.
Robbie, don't you wanna come out and play? Make me arrr
Vanity
Robbie baby, hear ya' got an electric machine
and it's mean, makes me want to arrr
Robbie baby, I like your style and the way you rock wigglin'
He say somethin' inside me,excites U
strap it on...tight!
If you wanna come on a carnival ride, baby yeah
strap it on...tonight!
Def Leppard - "High 'n' Dry (Saturday Night)" from "High 'n' Dry"
Taking a cue from Led Zeppelin for their name, and I have a copy of their first single.
This is just drugs and alcohol and a fine song
Saturday, I feel right
Def Leppard
I been drinkin' all day
Yes, I got a date, a midnight ride
I had to get it away
Yeah, I'm not a loner, I'm not a fool
Don't need a reason, reason to be cool
I got my whiskey, I got my wine
I got my woman and this time the lights are goin' out
Twisted Sister - "We're Not Gonna Take It" from "Stay Hungry"
I was expecting The Who's song, but this is their own, and they weren't too happy when Trump stole it for some rally. More poodle rock.
PMRC reckon this is violent. I don't think so.
Oh, you're so condescending
Twisted Sister
Your gall is never-ending
We don't want nothin', not a thing from you
Your life is trite and jaded
Boring and confiscated
If that's your best, your best won't do
Madonna - "Dress You Up"
They seem to think this is too naughty. It's just a fine Madonna song.
Feel the silky touch of my caresses
Madonna
They will keep you looking so brand new
Let me cover you with velvet kisses
I'll create a look that's made for you
Gonna dress you up in my love
All over, all over
Gonna dress you up in my love
All over your body
Gonna dress you up in my love, in my love
All over your body, all over your body
In my love
All over, all over
From your head down to your toes
Cyndi Lauper - "She Bop" from "Twelve Deadly Cyns...And Then Some"
I love Cyndi Lauper, and this is a great pop record; they didn't like it.
Well, I see him every night in tight blue jeans
In the pages of Blueboy magazine
Hey, I've been thinking of a new sensation
I'm picking up good vibrations
She bopDo I wanna go out with a lion's roar?
Yeah, I wanna go south and get me some more
Hey, they say that a stitch in time saves nine
They say I better stop or I'll go blind
She bop
OhhShe bop, he bop, we bop
Cyndi Lauper
I bop, you bop, they bop
Be bop, be bop, a lu bop
I hope he will understand
AC/DC - "Let Me Put My Love Into You" from "Back In Black"
Just the same as every other AC/DC song, and the title says it all. This is real rock.
Let me put my love into you, babe
AC/DC
Let me put my love on the line
Let me put my love into you, babe
Let me cut your cake with my knife
Black Sabbath - "Trashed" from "Born Again"
Not a Sabbath song I knew, but it's OK and back on the drugs and alcohol for this one.
So we went back to the bar and hit the bottle again
Black Sabbath
But there was no tequila
Then we started on the whiskey just to steady our brains
'Cause there was no tequila
And as we drank a little faster at the top of our hill
We began to roll
And as we get trashed we were laughing still
Well bless my soul
Mary Jane Girls - "In My House"
This is a Motown single I haven't heard, but it is not something I would switch off, but another deemed to be too naughty.
Boy, you can just best believe
I'm the only girl in your life
I'll be your sugar in the morning
And the sweet stuff you need at nightAnd you can just best believe
Mary Jane Girls
When it comes down to makin' love
I'll satisfy your every need
And every fantasy you think of
Venom - "Possessed" Title Track
Some devilish metal, which probably falls into their occult reason for disliking it. Not my cup of tea, but it does its job.
Look at me, Satan's child
Venom
Born of evil thus defiled
Brought to life through Satanic birth
Raised in Hell to live on Earth
Conclusion
Thank you, if you got this far. There's a lot of good stuff here, and hopefully we are more tolerant today, but my apologies if I offended you with any of this lot; it was the ones picked by the PMRC, apart from the Earl Vince and the Valiants one.
