There are a lot of different ways to rate song popularity, and radio is the traditional way to do that. However, it's not the only way. Looking at YouTube views is a way to tell what fans are really choosing to listen to... again, and again and again. Does YouTube have a repeat button yet?

What makes popular music?

Is it because the singer was already famous to begin with? Is it because people genuinely like this song? How does a music video become what is #Trending? I'm actually asking... I have no idea, to be honest.

Hello. Nice to meet you! How are you? Hmm... this feels like a really one-sided conversation... why don't you follow me on social media so I can get to know you too!

Which song is your favourite from the list?

I really do want to know! Let me know on Twitter! Don't forget to add hashtags! #popular #popmusic
