A Little "Girl Power" Can Go a Long Way

Welcome, ladies and gentlemen. The future is here, and the future is now. Women are more capable of creating art and getting it out there than they have ever been.

Have you looked around lately? Have you seen some of the beautiful, gorgeous, and inspirational women who are breaking molds and making dreams happen right as you read this?

The music industry used to be a man's world, but those times are quickly starting to change. Women are becoming top tier players in the music industry, and in more genres than you can imagine.

Women always used to have the pop genre to themselves, at least since the dawn of 90's teen idols like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. Yet lately, women have been making unlikely appearances into alternative music scenes, like the rock music and punk scene.

Women are now capable, more than ever, to express their artistic ideas and their creativity through all the same mediums that men have always expressed their art through.

DJs, musicians, song writers and producers, a lot of the genius artists coming out these days just happen to be strong women. Is that coincidence? Surely not. It's honestly a lovely time to be alive, and such an inspiration to see so much feminine creativity spark through our generation.

Now that women have the power and are capable of dominating the art worlds, it should be no surprise that the future rise of music will be with women. Sorry guys!

Men have had their time, for a long time. The classic 3-5 piece rock band was always a bunch of dudes. Rock shows and music festivals have always been (and still often times are) sausage festivals that feature mostly male artists. It was always "Sex, Drugs, & Rock & Roll" sure, but always in the eyes of men. When were women ever considered the top artists in that industry?

One of the reasons the future of the music industry lies with women is because the female mind (in art) is a place we haven't explored fully yet. We have not seen all that women are truly capable of musically or artistically, and we are just starting to plant the seeds for the future generations of art.

Mark my words, you will see women rise in so many areas of art aside from the typical pop, r&b, & rap side of things. You will see actual, talented lady musicians comparable to some of the world's most renowned artists rise from what may seem like impossible means.

If you are a woman, now is your time to shine. Don't sell yourself short and underestimate your own value in art. The faces of women in the alternative music industry are a rare sight to see, especially when they go against the grain of what is expected of musicians today.

There is no need for women to sell themselves short in art to get acknowledged anymore. Those days are over, unless of course it is her choice to embrace that lifestyle... but is no longer needed nor expected.

Just seeing women in the alternative music industry is a rare sight to see, but that won't always be the case. There will be a day when women do dominate almost every aspect of the music industry and art.

One day, you will see festival flyers covered in the names of musical projects of the world's most powerful, creative women. You might even see more women than men one day, and the classic "sausage festival" will be turned right back around on the guys.

The days of "Girl Power Flower" festivals are nigh, so those looking to ride the wave before it hits better get strapped in now. It is time to learn to accept the presence of women in art and embrace our world's creative ladies with loving arms.
