The 004 vs. COVID19

Youtube as 30 countries united against #COVID19

We're living in very strange times. We are seeing the best and worst of humanity. With the uncertainties of the global lockdown, it is very heartwarming to see that content creators are still going out of their way to create more content to boost the morale like my good friends, The 004 are doing with their music video to Nothing I Can't Achieve titled on Youtube as 30 countries united against #COVID19.

For those that don't know, The 004 are a dutch pop duo featuring childhood friends Mike van Doorn, Kelly Fernald and Janet Schalkwijk. I know Mike through a Sugababes fan group and consider him to be a very good friend of mine. As a content creator myself, I always enjoy seeing other content creators make a living out of their passions and using it for the greater good. It's always nice to discover new music.

What feels even nicer is being able to support other content creators with their passions. When it comes to indie content creators every like, share, and piece of feedback are like gold dust. It's great that the 004 are achieving their dreams and spreading the love at the same time.

Nothing I Can't Achieve was one of my favourite songs from their EP, and I'm glad it's being put into good use. COVID19 has hit everybody. People staying at home looking forward to going back to their jobs if there's still a job open for them. Those that do have to work risk their lives every day to protect the most vulnerable. This music video is a message for everybody.

The 004 did a music video similar to this with their song, Thank You Very Much which was gratitude towards fans by letting them be a part of the music video. And this is the same sort of positive message that the band like to spread. I love that there are new faces in this and I love the stay at home signs. Even though a lot of it is home recorded, it's really clear that everybody put a lot of thought into this and they really do as Ru Paul says, 'lip sync for your life.' As a 90's girl, I'm also liking there's a lot of spice girls posters in some of the rooms.

It doesn't get old and I don't think it ever will. It's never too late to spread positivity and love into the world. The wonder of the internet is that even when we are stuck at home, we can still keep in contact through the internet. I can only imagine how painful it would be for us if we had to do a lockdown in the 80s or the 90s with no other ways of contact other than letters and expensive telephone calls. We are fortunate to have the technology we have. The technology we have would have not made this video and countless other messages possible. Though I'm sure The 004 would have found other ways to get their message across.

I'd like to congratalate my friends, The 004 for making good waves. Their video got featured on Turkish TV which is proof that you don't need millions of fans to make a difference. I do think that The 004 will have a bigger following eventually.

If you haven't already I do reccomend checking out their two eps which are availible on iTunes and Spotify and also have a look at their youtube channel because they've got some very interesting videos and they do have some really great guests on their channel like Melanie C and Mutya Buena.
