Though he has done shows, offered streams, and been featured on Funkmaster Flex’s show to freestyle, DaBaby has taken significant monetary losses as a result of comments concerning the LGBTQIA+ community in 2021.

In the time since he stated his words about this particular set of people, he has shifted gears and viewed his song with Torey Lanez as a restaging situation.

Like a young colonel strategizing what to do in the field, DaBaby has had to rethink his plans for winning in the hip hop theater.

The song that he has with Lanez apparently came as an affront to Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion because of the drama she has with Lanez.

DaBaby is focused on reversing the cancel culture that has plagued him for over a year. He has positioned himself to be a strong contender for rap supremacy. His showmanship and confidence have not wavered despite online and personal attacks against his character and mind-frame.

He has stated that he doesn’t need to rap in reference to his own label Billion Dollar Baby Entertainment which features five artists, currently.

People accused him of being anti-gay when in reality he was promoting the dangers of not being honest about having HIV. He made it clear that he has supporters who are gay and straight and bi and queer and transgender and non-binary.

To silence someone for being honest in a climate of fear and the attacks on the First Amendment is particularly a bad sign of where America is headed.

The money that DaBaby has lost is important. It is the lifeblood that pays not just the artist but the managers, the A&Rs, the security, the whole collection that orbits around him. So for anyone to boycott Dababy, that is their choice. But to declare that he is some kind of deviant for speaking his mind is an idea that should be shot down like a rabid dog that just bit a toddler.

When DaBaby bounces back from all of this, he will be able to fortify his role as a leading artist in rap. As memories fade, he ought to seize the moment with an archer's precision aimed at rebuilding his brand. He ought to take the moment to reassure his base that he will always be himself and that sticks and stones may break bones but words can cause serious impact.

That impact should be for the positive. It should be for the way that he commands the stages and creates new albums. Anyone who took offense to what DaBaby are the same to pray for actual murderers who become saved. These are the same people who will let a LGBTQIA+ individual by on a murder charge just becsuse he or she or they is part of their collective.

This tribalism is exactly what DaBaby should be against. At the point that his career returns to the apogee, he should be prepared to keep plowing his way to hip hop glory.

The business behind his rap career is much more crucial due to his maturity as an artist and as a man. He has stood ten toes down (for the most part) and remained staunch as someone who can issue statements as much as he wants.

In order for DaBaby to receive the good graces of the media and people who once supported him, is to visit people with HIV and see how their lives are like.

He can greet gay men and explain that no one, heterosexual or homosexual should be offering sexual favors in the parking lot. This misconception, miscommunication, and misunderstanding surrounding DaBaby should be a case study for up-and-coming performers across television, music, film, and theater.

When the day comes where people develop thick skin, and even better, strong minds, we will know the absolute power of free speech.
