An analysis of Giveon's powerful new video for 'Heartbreak Anniversary'
The first time I listened to Giveon, I was transfixed. To me his songs held an equal and rare amount of balance, soul, syncopation and story-telling. When you hear Heartbreak Anniversary, you can’t help but remember your ex. You know exactly who I’m talking about, we all have that person who propelled us high and dropped us low. That roller-coaster kind of love that couldn’t last, because you two couldn’t meet in the middle.

I cannot believe that Niall Horan released Heartbreak Weather one year ago. (Well it was actually a year ago tomorrow, but we're here now.) Whether you are a Niall fan from his first album, or back from the One Direction days, I think we can all agree that watching him grow and flourish the last few years has been such a lovely thing. And this album was no exception. Flicker was so incredible that expectations were high for NH2, and our boy Niall did not disappoint. His second album was everything we needed, everything we wanted, and then some.

Choosing a good clarinet reed is hard, especially when you are finding the right one for a concert or performance. The traditional cane reed does offer a good sound, however, it takes time and effort to select a good reed to play, and it does cost a lot of money and care.

What’s your name, artist name and where are you from? Demetrius Larenz Bradford, but I’m officially known as “True Renzzo”. I’m from the Midwest, and I was born in a small town called Vincennes in the state of Indiana. My father was in and out of prison in my early life so I was raised up by my single mother along with my three brothers until about the age of six-teen. In my late teenage years my love for music was born. That’s when I started going to the local party’s around town with my older cousin and performed a lot of freestyle rap. The feedback I got locally pushed me to take my career to the next level.

It’s quite amazing how an artist can convey their creativity to others heart and soul. How their art has the ability to heal oneself.
Timbaland, wanna collab?
“If at first you don’t succeed, brush yourself off and try again.” - Aaliyah As an independent artist-entrepreneur, these are words I live by. I first heard them beautifully sung by a voice like no other, the late great Aaliyah in her song “Try Again” from her self-titled album Aaliyah. At that point, I was a child, so I didn’t understand the intricacies of the music industry and the role of the songwriters and producers behind the scenes. So as much as I admire and love Aaliyah, this piece is not about her, it’s about the producer and co-writer behind the song, Timbaland.

If you trace whatever style of popular modern music you hear or listen to, all the way back to its roots, you will end up at the name of one man. This was a man who lived far too short a life, but a man who left a legacy that reverberated, and continues to do so, throughout the last almost 100 years.
