P-Pop groups are on the rise right now. They are being recognized inside and outside the Philippines. Amongst the many artists, is the group BINI. One of their hit song "Pantropiko" has amassed over 24 million views on YouTube and more than 63 million streams on Spotify. Alongside other popular tracks like "Salamin Salamin" and "Na Na Na," the group has become one of the shining stars in the Philippines, earning the moniker 'Nation's Girl Group.'

To get to know BINI, here are eight things about this phenomenal P-Pop group:

1. Members

BINI is an eight-member Filipina group formed through the Kapamilya talent search Star Hunt. After nearly two years of intensive training, each member brings a unique blend of skills to the table. The group consists of talented and lovely eight members namingly:

Jhoana, the leader and the second youngest member of the group. Her position is lead vocalist and rapper; Aiai, the oldest member of the group. She is the main rapper, visual, and sub-vocalist of Bini; Colet, the group's main vocalist, lead rapper, and lead dancer; Maloi, one of the main vocalists of the group; Gwen, the lead vocalist and lead rapper; Stacey, the main rapper, lead dancer, and sub-vocalist; Mikha, the visual, main rapper, and lead dancer of the group; Sheena, the youngest member of the group. She is also the main dancer, and the sub-vocalist.

2. ‘BINI’

The name "BINI" originates from "Binibini," which means young lady. Their goal is to inspire youth and represent modern Filipino women who are informed and empowered.

3. Fandom

BINI’s fandom is called Bloom(s), stylized as BL∞M(s). The name was chosen during a special livestream on February 13, 2021. This signifies the group's tagline 'walo hanggang dulo.'

4. Debut

BINI released their pre-debut single, "Da Coconut Nut," in November 2020. Bini members signed officially as talents of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic, and as recording artists of Star Music, the network’s record company, in December 2020. Their official debut came later on June 11, 2021, with the release of their debut single "Born To Win,”

5. Two members appeared on a reality TV Show

Gwen and Sheena appeared on a reality TV show. They were in Pinoy Big Brother: Otso Batch 3 Teen’s Edition. Afterwards, the two former housemates eventually auditioned for Star Hunt and are now a Bini members.

6. Their First Ever EP

BINI released their first ever EP album on March 8 this year. That day is also the International Women's Day. BINI is an advocate for empowering women.

“Talaarwan”, which "tackle the youth’s perspective on friendship, love, and navigating through life", features six tracks, “Salamin, Salamin,” “Ang Huling Cha Cha,” “Na Na Nandito Lang,” “Diyan Ka Lang,” their hits songs “Salamin, Salamin,” “Karera,” and “Pantropiko.”

Talaarawan means diary in English.

7. Achievements

BINI has achieved several historic milestones in the P-pop world. They made history as the first P-Pop group to top Billboard's Philippines Songs Chart with their viral summer hit "Pantropiko." Additionally, they hold the title of the most-streamed OPM female artist on Spotify. They are also the first ever recipient of the Billboard Philippines Women in Music “Rising Star” Award.

8. First Ever-Solo Concert

BINI will have their first-ever solo concert entitled BINIverse at the New Frontier Theater from June 28 to 30, 2024.

Star Music said it took less than 2 hours to sell all tickets for the group's BINIverse, which made Star Music to add two more days to the concert (June 29-30).

The P-Pop girl group BINI is also set to stage concerts in the US and Canada.
