No- Meghan Trainor

I felt like this is the best song that explains that you don't need to be with a significant other to have fun and do stuff, especially like going out and dancing. Most of the time when a group of girls go out to the club to dance, there aren't interested in anything to do with guys. They're out trying to have fun with themselves and their friends. They don't get dressed up for dudes, they get all dressed up for themselves, to feel good and pretty. Most of my female friends or women I talk to, their biggest complaint about going dancing are the guys that try to come up and ruin their good time, and no matter how many times they say they're not interested, men are "relentless". This song is perfect for wanting to have fun and not seeking any sexual or intimate interest from or for anyone.

What's My Age Again- Blink 182

This song is perfect for that person who feels like they're not on the same level in a relationship. Personally, I relate well to this song. I'm very much a person who just wants to have fun in a relationship and can often be in my own world sometimes and not pick up on social cue's that my significant other gives off. I have found myself wanting to finish a show or a video game before wanting to spend time romantically with them. This type of behavior always made people question my age/maturity when it came to a relationship. So, this song will always be on a playlist of mine and very appropriate for Anti-Valentine's Day.

Heartless (Cover)- The Word Alive

Originally by Kanye West, I picked this version because this cover has that edge you need to feel the emotions in the words of the song. Feeling betrayed or getting your heartbroken is an awful feeling and anyone who make's you feel like that must be... "Heartless". Valentine's Day can bring up these feelings because it's a day that's been embedded in our minds as a day for "Love". When we're not in love during this time of the year, our minds remind us why we're not or who once made us feel loved and can open up old wounds or bring up old grudges or resentment.

Dancing On My Own- Calum Scott

Another one for the heartbroken is Calum Scott's "Dancing On My Own". Some people are a glutton for punishment, so if you can't help yourself but listen to sad songs that remind you of the person who hurt you the most, this song will bring up the feels and do just that. Calum's voice has a way to really display the emotion he describes in the lyrics. This was one of those song's that couldn't NOT be on my Anti-Valentine's Day playlist.

No Scrubs- TLC

If you don't have No Scrubs on your Anti-Valentine's Day playlist then is it even an Anti-Valentine's Day playlist at all?? A lot of controversy came out after Meghan Trainor's "No" got released. Critic's saying she just copied "No Scrubs" but whether she did or didn't, I feel like every generation should have a song in which a girl can know her worth and know that she's not made to be someone's property or something to look at. Women deserve just as much respect as men. That's why both songs are on my playlist.

Thnks Fr Th Mmrs- Fall Out Boy

Betrayal of trust and cheating are huge factors to heartbreak and "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs" is Fall Out Boy's most popular song about it. Also, it's a catchy pop punk anthem and as a huge fan of pop punk, I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to have an excuse to throw this jam on another one of my playlist's.

I Love It- Icona Pop

I felt like every playlist to be enjoyed on a day like Valentines Day needs to have a "feel good, heck yeah!" jam. So this song is on there for a pick-me-up and a boost of a non-relationship/love/heartbreak breather for a playlist like this one.

Bulletproof Love- Pierce The Veil

That was a good breather but now, we're back to "feels", emotions, and anti-love songs. Bulletproof Love is for every person who had their teen love phases and they felt like their first heartbreak was the "End Of The World". We never forget our first love, for better or for worst and this song has all the emotions, from the deep lyrics to the guttural vocals. Almost all of Pierce The Veil's song's will always make you feel but this one especially, by popularity, is a favorite for most fans which makes a must-have for my playlist.

Confident- Demi Levato

I'm personally not much of a Demi Levato music fan. but I enjoy the sass and angst in her songs. My pattern for these songs is that they keep with a theme of acknowledging the pain of the wrong people in our lives who we thought were true love but also being self aware of how great we are without always relying on love and a partner to be our core happiness. Confident is a great song to show that people get intimidated with someone being confident and not a lost puppy dog. Those people aren't the right people for you so the best thing is to continue to be confident as you walk away.

Do Re Mi- blackbear

Out of all my songs, I believe this is the most explicit one. But sometimes you need that kind of song to help express the feelings and anger you just can't express by yourself. Or sometimes we just need a song with a simple beat and just telling our feelings of how it is. blackbear does that in most of his songs but Do Re Mi was my pick that best felt right for this playlist.

Leave Me Alone- I DON'T KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME

Whether it's a person or your thoughts, sometimes you just want to be left alone. Valentine's Day can have memories that make you not want to be around anyone. Those moment's can happen and maybe it's not February 14th but it could be a day that links memories to someone or something that makes this day repulsive or pointless. This song is one of those song's that can be taken in different ways and it's a funky tune so I felt like it was a good mix for the playlist to keep it different, unpredictable, and alive.

FEEL NOTHING- The Plot In You

Let's get back to emotions! This song has the angst, anger, and emotion that can help let out any negative emotions to this day. It's heavier and when it comes to those heavy emotions, it can be the perfect song to get through such an anti-love feeling kind of day for Anti-Valentine's Day fans.

My Friends Over You- New Found Glory

This song is exactly what it says. At the end of the day, you have your friends and someone you're dating or in a relationship with who can't support that, they need to know you're going to pick your friends over your significant other, because when you break up, your friends are going to be the one's that are there. There's also a healthy balance that you should know that comes with friendships versus relationships. But at the end of the day, your friends will always have your back.

Alone- I Prevail

After a catchy tune like "My Friends Over You" you have to balance that out with a slower melody to get some feels in and that song is definitely "Alone" by I Prevail. one of those that you lay in bed, look at the ceilings, and sing the lyrics remember and feeling what that person who gave you such heartbreak did and make sure that they never get the privilege of getting to do that to you again.

Without Me (Cover)- The Maine

Halsey's original is amazing but The Maine made a beautiful orchestral cover that I can't get sick of. It brought more feeling to the song and my biased love for the band, I had to pick this version to use for the playlist. There's no other explanation you need why this song is so appropriate for this playlist other than just listening to it for the songs lyrics to explain it on it's own.

Wolf In Sheep's Clothing- Set It Off

You already know my pattern by now... from a slow song to a catchy, upbeat, angsty song. The biggest song to get yourself wanting to hear more from this band, Set It Off's "Wolf In Sheep's Clothing" will be the perfect song to get through that rough, heartbroken, angry feeling about love.

Everybody's Got Somebody but Me- Hunter Hayes (featuring Jason Mraz)

So this was a pick my girlfriend told me to put on. It was her Anti-Valentines day and single anthem back when she was younger and wasn't in the dating scene. It's a super catchy song and the last thing we need to complete this playlist is to have a "third-wheel" song and I feel like this song fit's very well in that category.

That is my Anti-Valentine's Day playlist. If you were interested in the line up and would like it accessible to listen to, you can click here for the Spotify link. I hope you enjoy!
