There's only a handful of albums that I consider to be true works of art; I'm talkin' about ones I can indulge in both as a music enthusiast, lyrical fanatic and dyxtaposition nerd.

Dua Lipa's sophomore album, Future Nostalgia, has made that coveted list of crowned jewels. Apart from every other artist that decided to halt their album releases, Dua figured that during this pandemic, the world needs to have a reason to smile.

The album has everything I love and need to be able to get up and get a much needed dose of cardio sprinkled with a splash of endorphins. Any song that is fueled by traces of house, bass, and a lush of strings, piano chords and catchy synths may just as well put my heart in roller blades and take it out for a spin in a discotheque.

When speaking with Rolling Stone Magazine, Dua contemplated heavily whether or not to put it out because the album is full of so many up-beat and high tempo dance songs, would it even be appropriate during a time of so much suffering?

Given the response, it's exactly what the fans needed to feel uplifted.

As mentioned in her secondary single dubbed "Future Nostalgia", she means business by telling folks that while they're "want a timeless song, she's trying to change the game".

I think this is the perfect introduction to the record amplifying the start of a new era in the pop star's life.

The track list follows a much familiar bop "Don't Start Now" which is a classic radio anthem touching upon a previous and very public break-up in the star's life referencing that she's moved on, rose above the humiliation and had fully healed from the separation...

The transition is evident in "Levitate" and "Hallucinate" in which she celebrates her freedom; new experiences and infatuations are making her mind wild with dopamine. "Hallucinate" was written with the intention to be performed at festivals where people can let go of their daily stressors, ease up on the pressures and just dance their troubles away...and it is just as such. It's so nostalgic to me in the sense that it makes me remember all the times I'd hit up night clubs, get close to that one hot boy eyeing me from the corner of the dance floor and finally kiss under the strobe lights.

"Got stars in maaaa' eyes...and they don't fade when you come my way" speaks so loudly of that experience.

"Pretty Please" had been meticulously placed between "Levitate" and "Hallucinate" to ease up the tempo, but it's such a pop-synth sexy track that can make any good girl turn into a vixen in 3.5 seconds. When I listen to this track, I feel like raising the volume with every uprising beat leading up to the chorus, whilst trying on new lingerie and sipping on mimosas embraced by traces of the sunlight kissing the little bit of skin I'm willing to show.

Also...there's a part in the song where the album's title is just ever so slightly echoed and that gives me major goosebumps.

The remaining tracks on the record are all tributes to a newfound love eclipsed by traces of uncertainty...like in "Break My Heart" for which she released a music video one day before the drop of this album. In "Love Again" Dua fully acknowledges the fact that she is in love once more; even after she might have lost all sight of it due to previous experiences. This feels certain...magical...whimsical.

I think it's fair to say that Dua can be crowned queen for making such a bold decision in releasing an incredibly put together album...primarily meant for the festivals and clubs. Future Nostalgia will have its beautiful moment and while the future of this pandemic is uncertain, our heart keep beating to the rhythm of Dua's universe.

This soundtrack tells a narrative of a girl who fuels her heart break wholeheartedly into what she knows best: making pop hearts soar. We're invited to dance, to laugh, to cry, to make love...

Tune in to the Future Nostalgia Experience below.
