Ms. Ruby Shoots Dead the White Man Who Legally Raped Her Through Paramour Rights
Did you know? In the 1950s, white men had paramour rights -or the right to use Black women for sex regardless of whether or not they are willing to have sex and regardless if they are married. This is the story of Ms. Ruby McCollum, one of those unfortunate victims of paramour rights. Ms. Ruby, fed up with being raped, shot and killed the white man who forced her into sex and to bear his children. The married woman was pregnant with another of the man’s baby’s when she shot him in 1952. Ms. Ruby was sentenced to the electric chair for the murder, but under appeal, was sent to a psychiatric hospital until 1974.

The FBI defines the term ‘serial killings’ to mean a series of three or more killings, not less than one of which was committed within the United States, having common characteristics such as to suggest the reasonable possibility that the crimes were committed by the same actor or actors. It is estimated that upward of 150 serial killers are on the loose in the US in 2021. The serial killers on this list, fortunately, are not among them. They were all captured and sent to prison for their horrific crimes.

Sophie Lancaster & Boyfriend Attacked Because They Were “Goth”
Summary: Robert Maltby and Sophie Lancaster had dated for about three years. One night as the couple walked through a park headed home, a group of teens attacked Robert. Sophie stepped in to defend her boyfriend. When she did, the teens stamped on her head and jumped up and down on her body. Sophie died from her injuries in the hospital 13-days after the attack. Five people were charged with their deaths, but charges against three of the teens were dismissed.
