The Wren Blight
Chapter 1 The outside world was unknown to her, but she could see a glimpse of it through the window in his room. Casey stared longingly, trying to imagine what the vibrant grass would feel like under her feet. Vast and colorful vegetation overflowed the city street beyond the six-inch thick safety glass viewing slot. The immaculate greenery perfectly accented the pinks and purples of the wildflowers riddled throughout the arching valley of mossy buildings. It was just out of reach, not but a few feet on the other side of the window. A glimmering garden, brimming with wonder, never to be touched again.

Icing
A crystal valley, so harrowing and vibrant. Baby blue icing.

Part one We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. Couldn’t see it yet, but I’d been here once before. The sun had gone down about an hour ago and visibility wasn’t great due to the heavy snowfall, but I could make out the warm glow peaking through the trees atop the hill. We made our way to it—the amber light from the cabin reaching out as we inched our way upwards. Ryan’s jeep was doing well for the most part, but the road was steep—and slick.

A Hadron Discovery
Chapter One: Landing I gazed with unfettered amazement through the viewing port in the rec quarters. Emerald-green oceans spread across the vast habitable world, with endless clusters of swirling pink and ivory cloud formations. My breath was stricken from me. It was a masterpiece—a glowing abstract painting. This was Hadron-B6, the newest planet found in our cousin star system that could support life. Named after the sixth hadron collider—the particle accelerator that had opened up the wormhole to get us here. I was in awe, holding my hands to the nano-carbon reinforced glass. The video and images collected by the unmanned exploratory mission did not do this place justice. At all.

A View From Above
Part One Seth The incessant buzzing of my phone forced my eyes open again. I’d snoozed it four or five times aldready. Maybe more. I swiped it off, knowing I needed to get up. My subscribers were expecting a fresh wave of RPG how-to’s and I was already behind this week. Unfortunately, last nights festivities went on a little longer than expected. And that vodka went down way, way too easy.

Order of Reptellium
Part one Sister moons arced toward their precipice as the failing sunlight ebbed beyond Santiok Valley. Tensely, he glided over a rolling swell in the winter winds, grazing a soft plume of clouds as he scanned the horizon to the north. The Timberfrost—a vast, wooded landscape reached out as far as the eye could see. A pearlescent dusting crystallized the tops of the trees, setting the pines and spruces and evergreens aglow as golden beams of light refracted across the glimmering frost. This was undoubtedly where the dark ones had come from. Crassix, the ancient bronze drake took in one hate-filled breath, threatening his stoic demeanor. Show yourselves, you devils, he thought, while exhaling fumes of flame-laced matter.
