Renaissance Festival War Stories: Newbourne June 10/11/12, 2022
Friday June 10, 2022 It's six AM. I pick up Nestor from his home. He says, "It's six AM. We have a full tank of gas. And a half a pack of cigarettes (neither of us smoke). Let's do this." I already knew Nestor was my brother and best friend. I had been looking forward to this weekend for quite some time, but in the first thirty seconds of this weekend, Nestor made the right joke to tell me one thing: this was going to be awesome.

Renaissance Festival War Stories: The Lost Scrolls - Food Edition
Nothing tastes like the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. Running seven weekends from mid-August to the end of September and sometimes into October, summertime ends with the flavors of the renaissance. While many Minnesotans are getting their end-of-summer fill at the State Fair, I am filling my stomach and my soul at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival.

Tinka's Content Index
When I first started using Vocal, I didn't understand, or read for that matter, what categories were what. Vocal didn't have a great way of organizing their content. I didn't properly title some of my first content. This idea of indexing, organizing, categorizing, etc was blatantly copied from another Vocal creator Mike Singleton. So here is a bit better organization of my content.

Four Day Weekend. Top Story - June 2022.
"There weren't always dragons in the valley." "Shut the fuck up Nat," Jenny snickered a laugh. "I thought the last couple months would've made your tolerance better, not worse." She took the blunt back from Natalie.

Moulting
(Map. Call. Sob.) "There weren't always dragons in the valley." It was a bizarre omen, almost an urban legend heard around the office. Lindsey worked for United Parts Company, a company that made generic replacement parts for major appliances, she was in product engineering. Why she had heard such a weird phrase used was something she could never figure out. Lindsey had one other woman close by in her department on the sixth floor: Anne-Marie. They spent their work days scanning name brand parts, reverse-engineering them, and copying them for United Parts for discount mass production. It wasn't the kind of work Lindsey imagined doing when she got her degree in engineering, but it paid the bills and the pressure of the job was never too much.

So Close, And So They Begin...
There weren't always dragons in the valley. When they were were there, they were territorial in the space. It wasn't so much that they didn't like Tinka being there, she wasn't their kind, lowly, not part of the pride. Tinka bowed before the pride leader, only a bit taller than herself and excused herself from the two dozen dragons resting in the valley. Some elder dragons giving her sneers and the young whelps played - pounce on each other, not noticing the lone deer walk back into the forest.

Uncursing Leena
There weren't always dragons in the valley. They were in the mountains this time of year, they would return again in the fall, during their migrant season. Leena was dazed, but she wasn't worried about dragons, they were the least of her worries.

Renaissance Festival War Stories. Lost Tales 2016-May 2019
I used to say, "I would never work at the Renaissance Festival, that's my play time." Somehow after performing burlesque the first two times, I got a bug to perform again, but it was on a stage I was a little more familiar and comfortable with.
