It's crept into my dreams, which is everything that proves that what happened, happened. I can officially decipher the difference between reality and imaginary, but it doesn't make me feel any better. It's not an achievement when whatever direction you head in feels like a loss.

It got immensely darker in the outside world, but I was too deep into my emotions to be disturbed. I didn't care if the sudden further-darkness meant my death, physical pain on top of what I already felt, or if it was possibly something good disguised as the dark. It didn't matter anymore. A replay of what I flew away from was all I could focus on.

Music is playing. It's familiar, but I can't recognize the lyrics, and it appears that's what's going on between the two of them -- Talia and Jewee. They've exchanged several mysterious glances that I can't exactly read, but not one of them has made the move to head over to the other. Every time I look at Talia, her face is ashamed and only ashamed, there's no space for another emotion, and Jewee is just pure anxious like he said he was.

"How was your date?" The grand clock struck midnight. In the fairy tales, that's when all the magic disappears, and surprisingly my reality of today didn't turn out much different, though I didn't have much of this 'magic' to begin with. It just got consistently worse.

Money. That's what I saw when I woke up. I could smell it in the air, so heavily I could practically taste it, and the cha-ching it screamed rested on my lobes as an unexpected but pleasant guest.

"So, how did you and Aiden meet?" Jewee cleared his throat, resting his feet on the corner of his desk, hands in his lap. "Your novel doesn't go too far back into how the two of you began, which worked very well for the novel. That kind of information wasn't really necessary and possibly could've sidetracked the piece, but for a romance movie, flashbacks might stir up more emotion for the audience, and that's a chance for your personal experience and emotion."

Five feet apart, opposite ends of the couch. Home at last, but it doesn't feel like home. Neither of us can manage looking at each other for more than half a second. I'm humiliated of what I've done in front of him and he -- well, he doesn't know how to take it.

"What do you think happens to us when we die?" I blurt it out, peering into the sky like I've never seen it before. I lay against the top of the vehicle like he is, finally feeling like it wasn't awkward to do so. The car jerks slightly, as he processes my question, and also because no vehicle, as classy as this one may be, is made for the weight of two human beings to sprawl across the roof of it. While Jewee ignores it, I decide to too. It is his car, meaning any damage that comes along is also his.

"Hello?" I had my phone up to my ear, but away by a couple inches. I was hoping it'd be different for the circumstances, since I was away from home and all, but neither of my parents ever called me unless they were angry or had depressing news. They weren't the type to call to check in and go on with their lives right after. They came to destruct.

Like Jewee has been implying this whole time, I'm a coward. He was right, and it explains a lot. It explains every piece of my life that hasn't worked out. I thought there was some outside force that I could blame, as if the gods out there just hate me and are out to get me, but come to find out, I've made that up in my own imagination so that I didn't have to blame myself.

The lights of fame are blinding. I was aware of that before I came here, but I think I have the right to say that it's a lot harder for me than it would be for other people. For other people starting to get a taste of fame, though there are several cases that it happens overnight, it's usually gradual. There's zero to support you, until there's ten, and then twenty. One hundred, a thousand, a million, a billion -- depending on the circumstance.
