Bio
I'm just a girl in her early 20s trying to figure out what to do with her life, and I'm also trying to get back into writing. Figured the best time to rekindle my passion for it would be during the lockdown.

The Nymph
I stared up at the bright Moon, wondering what it must be like to be so far away from the cold, clutching embrace of the water. Up there in the vast empty sky, she must be so free, unlike me, confined to this tank. I’ve been trapped here against my will for about 40 years now. I watched the human who trapped me grow old and weary. His once handsome face now scarred deeply with the telltale signs of ageing. He was going to die, I could see the dark tendrils of Death wrap around his body. But they were invisible to the eyes of mortals. I took some solace in this knowledge, that any day now he would drop dead and succumb to the fate that awaited all mortals. Maybe then I’ll be able to return to my sisters.

International Women's Day and the Hypocrisy of the Media
International Women’s Day, celebrated on the 8th of March annually is meant to be a focal point in the movement for women’s rights. Highlighting the various contributions women have made in our society, which is great. I totally agree that we should highlight the amazing achievements these women have made. Women are incredible, and if you disagree thats a you problem. Obviously the significance of International Women’s Day is not lost on me. Women are still not being paid equally as men (even though they are just as just as qualified), their rights to a safe abortion are being taken away, and the causal misogyny that most women have to face on a daily basis is appalling. We need to do better people, it’s 2021 this behaviour is not acceptable.

The Current Job Market Sucks and I'm Going to Talk About It
Hey there reader, hope your day is going a lot better than mine (just kidding, I’m actually having a pretty swell day). I’ve really gotten in the rhythm of writing and posting here, it’s definitely reignited my love for writing. While I have really enjoyed writing my opinion pieces on various movies and tv shows, I wanted to get a little bit candid and talk about something that's on my mind about my life.

2021 Movies I'm Excited to Watch
So there’s a bunch of movies that are set to be released sometime this year and I thought it would be fun to rank them in order of my excitement. This isn’t any official rankings, it’s just something that I wanted to do and thought it’d make an entertaining read as well. I love watching movies and after the last year where we barely had any new releases, I cannot wait to watch some new stuff. Without further ado let’s get into it.

Netflix Ruined Winx Club for Me and I'm Not Over It
So before we begin I feel like I should explain a little bit about me, I grew up watching the original Winx Club cartoon on Nickelodeon and I was obsessed with it. In fact when Netflix announced they were making a live action Winx Club I rewatched the first three seasons of the cartoon (in my opinion season 3 of the cartoon is the best because of the Enchantix transformation). What I found surprised me, I actually really enjoyed rewatching the old episodes and thought they held up pretty well (though it could have been an element of nostalgia clouding my judgement).

Why Disney's Raya and the Last Dragon has me losing my mind
There's no denying that Disney has played a huge role in shaping or influencing our childhoods, especially their animated movies. As a kid I would watch all the Disney Princess movies with an almost obsessive intensity. I'm still very confident in being able to sing the theme songs from each movie (even though I am admittedly very tone deaf). If I had to name my favourite movies, it would have to 'Aladdin'. The original animated movie, has a very special place in my heart because of Princess Jasmine.

How Playing DnD Rekindled my Love for Writing Top Story - February 2021
There’s a lot I can say about the last year of my life but most of it would revolve around the existential dread brought on by Covid and let’s be real, there’s been enough articles about that. So instead of doing that, I want to highlight something good that came out of my lockdown experience...I started playing Dungeons and Dragons!!

Book Review: 'Fear' by Roald Dahl
Anyone who knows me knows that I have a deep and genuine love for literature. I've always played around with the idea of writing my own book reviews. I am fully aware that I am not a professionally qualified reviewer, but I love literature and hope this helps me improve my analytical skills as a writer. All the opinions shared in this post are my own opinions and I would love to hear back from you guys if you have a different interpretation of some of the stories.

Existential Crisis in My 20s?
So I know the title seems very dramatic, especially for my very first post on here but hear me out. I honestly have absolutely no idea what I'm doing with my life. I used to be so passionate and motivated about, well everything, but before we get into the nitty gritty of it all let me give you guys some backstory about me.
