The Stream of Consciousness
A billowing cloud of smoke rolls off his lips, the tendrils of smoke that escape his breath float weightlessly above his head. I take in all of the small details of his face, as if seeing it for the first and last time. He glances at me and we catch eyes, and that’s all it takes to become lost in the ocean that is my psyche. Does he even realize how gorgeous his eyes are? The way the emerald green blends so flawlessly with the baby blue. One look and they pierce through all of my walls and envelop my soul.

Between Real-Life and Dream-Walking
Not very many children, or most people for that matter, are aware of that fact that one of Sun Prairie’s own parks is home to one of the most beautiful spring-fed ponds in the area. So many people pass the entrance to this piece of paradise on a daily basis, completely oblivious to the treasure that lies a little way down the water. Approaching the tattered old bridge over the stream, one would never guess that a magical world lives beyond the rugged pine trees and moss-covered rocks. However, if one dares to venture down the path less traveled, they may find a breathtaking experience waiting to greet them.

The Woman with Neck Tattoos
She enters the room, surrounded by an aura that’s nearly palpable. Tattoos cover 75 percent of her skin, some sport neon colors while other are shades of grey and black. Her body is worn and looks as though it could blow away if the wind gust happens to be slightly too strong. Wrinkles on her face, neck, and hands reveal the stress and experiences she has encountered through her life. Years of cigarettes and experimental partying along with birthing five children have taken their toll on the mind and spirit of this once bright-eyed woman.
