The Ultimate Respect
It was an ordinary college football game, as games go. The East Carolina defensive end battled the Marshall University blocking back most of the night. The battle was fierce and violent at times. At one point the Marshall blocking back used the patented Marshall signature move; a forearm to the purple helmet of his opponent, “ringing the bell” of his adversary and cracking his helmet in such a way that it had to be replaced before the next play.

Emotional Trip Down Memory Lane
About a year ago I wrote in my column about the arrival of a special gift from my catcher from back in the Babe Ruth League All-Star days. When Ron sent me the catcher’s mitt that he caught my no-hitter with it brought tears to my eyes.

Passaic General Hospital, the place where I was brought into this world; Passaic General Hospital where they should have a plaque with my name hanging in the emergency room for the record for the most visits in any category, Passaic General Hospital where I spent a good deal of the first half of my Junior year in High School, Passaic General Hospital a place that everyone in the area knew.

Jimmy Piersall
We lost Jimmy Piersall back on June 3rd, 2017. Some people might find it hard to believe, but Jimmy was one of my favorite players. I guess because Jimmy was not afraid to be Jimmy and as the movie title says, Fear Struck Out with Jimmy. Rest in peace. Here is a story that I had saved for a column but will give you a peek. It probably won't appear as a column so here it is:
