How to See the Spirits (According to my Father)
One day in one of my father's visit, during my early year lived and worked in Jakarta, alone; I asked my father how he could see those spirits/ ghosts. He was sitting on the floor against my room's door, sucking his heavily traditional unfiltered cigarettes', he said, "It just a matter of channeling your frequency, make your frequency the same channel as theirs, usually I just tuned my self down, and I felt something around me, I looked up on the trees, I saw something there, it was just sitting on one of the branches, looking at me back, and usually when you do that, they also feel your energy and they can feel that you can see them as well." that is how he explain about one of his "encounters" with spirit. I looked back through my shoulders, felt the goosebumps and the cold air on the hallway touched my back neck, and bravely asked, "can you feel if there anything that living in my place along with me which I couldn't see?" fortunately, my father said, "your place is clear, only human live here." which I responded with a deep sigh.

How I Became a K-poper
It was summer 2008, I was only a 19 years old clueless second year student of an university. I was in the car of Aru, one of my besties back in the university days, there were also with us, Aderu, Shanshan, Myonk, and Mermer, we were singing along of Big Bang's song titles "Lies", crumpled in Aru's tiny 2007 car. That was how, I became indulged in kpop, that was how, I became the die hard fan of Big Bang (even though now I no longer their fan anymore).

The Stories of My Grandparents (from my Mother's side)
I do not have many memories of the grandparents from my mother's side. All I know and I have learnt from my mom about them is just that my grandmother was a migrant from the land of China - probably Hong Kong since my Mother learnt Cantonese instead of Mandarin in her childhood - brought by her parents who tried to settle and reside among the locals in Java island in early 1920s. Meanwhile, my grandfather was a local who lived in West Java in a region called Cianjur.

INTRODUCTION
Hello dear Vocal's readers. My name is Kyan, and this page is all about who I am and why I want to share my stories here. I was born, raised, and growing up in an Asian's culture, Indonesian's culture for more specific, which put your parents’ need as the top of priority. I mean, I do not mind with that, as long as the parents or the elders also respect the younger’s right as well, as individual being, but most of the cases I encountered while living in Asian’ society, the elders I have known so far, they abused their right as the elders and do as they like toward the younger ones. In Asian culture, seniority is playing main part in society, which is refer to the age rather than the experience itself. No matter how smart you are, no matter how much experience you had, you will still need to submit and obey to whatever the elders told you. In some conservative families, the children often have no choice to make decision toward their own future.

Seaweed Soup Recipe - My Savior Food
Growing up as an Asian, my Mom had taught me to eat rice 3 times a day; once for breakfast, then lunch and lastly dinner. There would always be rice on our dining table. But most of the time, I found myself enjoying it the most while eating it along with any soup or broth. On the other hand, I have married someone who almost never eats soup. My husband much prefers anything that is potato-based (wedges, chips, waffles or hash browns) and roasted chicken (totally plain with no added seasoning).
