Pen & Inktober
11. Wander The ship bobbed and swayed, tostled by the ether as it bounded aimlessly across the stars. With no heading or destination in mind, Xan gazed through the window of their starcruiser as the universe flittered by. The alien creature was often struck with the affliction of wanderlust, taking to the stars at a moment's notice with so much as an Anterian goodbye. He didn't know what he was seeking, he just hoped that one day he would find it, hopefully without crashing.

6. Golden Jira sat at his desk, rolling his gold coin across his knuckles. A shisha smoked in the corner, the aroma of tobacco and sweet apple filling the silk draped office. His last days had been peaceful, but a new client was due to arrive, so the dusk-skinned figure was taking a moment to prepare.

1. Dream I walk these halls, so familiar yet unrecognisable. Pictures of faces I can’t quite place line the walls, the paintwork crumbling away the further I go. In the distance, a pair of double doors block the path ahead, the glass smeared with paint. Each step towards them brings me further away, the endless hall stretching out beyond reach.

Testudo Deorum
There was silence in the library. Gleaming marble walls lined with bookshelves spiralled towards the heavens where an ornate stained glass ceiling glittered. Books and tomes from bygone eras sat gathering dust, undisturbed for centuries. No such a collection of literature had ever existed in this or any other world. And of other worlds there were many. Shining platinum sconces held eternally burning torches, their mystical blue flames illuminating every last corner of the seemingly vacant athenaeum.

English Summer
While it might be expected to choose the work of a well known or famous artist, the piece I have chosen for this prompt was drawn by a friend. A biro sketch on printer paper made 2 months into knowing him at university, this has been on various walls for the last 11 years. When I asked my friend why he was doing a business course and not art, he quite wisely and honestly replied, “Because I want to eat in the future.”

Stray Dogs
The speeding locomotion engine roared through the blizzard that raged across the mountains. The racket of wheels on track almost drowned out by the sound of gunfire. Bullets flew as two elves clung to the roof of a passenger coach, exchanging shots with the goons in the adjacent coach.

The Crystal Forest
Stars sparkled up through the forest below, the sun shining in the sky above. Night and day mirroring each other through the crystalline floor as Qwaril Rincer raced between the trees, his bag clutched tightly to his chest. Hoofbeats from dozens of centaurs echoed behind him.

Mortzeel's Lost & Found
Chapter 1 Belgar isn't the most exciting of places, not the dullest either. Sitting on the western coast of Escana looking out towards the Kalbasha Ocean, it does a good business in exotic wines and foreign spices. It is also the city of choice for the up-and-coming adventurer. With the Coldash Mountains to the north and the Splinterwood forest to the east, there was always work to be found for those looking to make a name for themselves, and today was no different.
