Micro Heist - A short story in 200 words

The speeding locomotion engine roared through the blizzard that raged across the mountains. The racket of wheels on track almost drowned out by the sound of gunfire. Bullets flew as two elves clung to the roof of a passenger coach, exchanging shots with the goons in the adjacent coach.

“New mag!” Riley called out to his twin, ducking down as hot lead passed over his head.

Flinging a pistol magazine into the darkness of the night, knowing her brother would catch it, Micky let off a volley of shots. “They just keep coming!”

A table shattered in the dining coach, crushed under the weight of an unconscious thug. Benny let out a roar, the burly orc squaring off with the squad of bruisers edged towards him. “C’mon! Who wants some!?”

The engineer shovelled coal furiously into the engine’s furnace under the watchful eye of the catfolk girl with the automatic rifle. “Keep it going, hunny,” Cally grinned, cocking the receiver.

With chaos roaring outside the door, Jerik smiled at the gangster across from him, pistol in hand. Reaching across the table to take the mafioso's glass of scotch, the demi-demon took a slow sip. “So, are you ready to negotiate?”
